Im getting strange ground textures when at Keflavik (got Aerosoft Keflavik installed. Even moved it to the top if the library list) Anyone else got the same issue?

I uninstalled Aerosoft Iceland X and kept Keflavik X installed. No issues for me so far. Regards

While I have my 'meh' hat on, they're not really giving you/us anything. Any more than a pusher gives a 'free' snort

 

I like that - I'm sure that is part of the Orbx marketing philosophy but it works! I love flying in the Pacific Northwest and Alaska regions and, some months ago, I just thought I would try Orbx Pacific Northwest, Pacific Fjords and Southern Alaska, as the screenshots looked good, and then stop. But did that happen? No - I have gradually acquired a considerable amount of Orbx scenery both for these areas and some others! But the bottom line is that the quality of the Orbx scenery is superb - if it was not, then 'a free snort', even for scenery addicts like me, would probably not achieve many sales. As someone who has all of the Aerosoft addons for Iceland, I have so far resisted going for the Orbx freebie, particularly as I only tend to use just Rejkavik or Keflavik as stops on transatlantic flights and I am happy with the improvement the Aerosoft scenery provides.

 

Unfortunately however Orbx scenery is expensive on a cumulative basis, particularly their minor airports, and for this reason I am planning to limit Orbx addons to a limited number of areas, in which I frequently fly, rather than trying to populate the whole flight simulator world! It is interesting to note that they have dropped the price of their UK airports recently, but I suspect that is in response to recent release of upgraded UK airports from UK2000. The quality of the UK2000 upgrade looks superb from the screenshots (albeit not quite the extreme level of detail that you get with an Orbx airfield) but you get 78 airfields / airports in Southern England and Wales for £34.99, about the cost of 4 Orbx airfields even at their new reduced price! In the same way that successful low-cost airlines generate large passenger numbers and huge profits from selling seats cheaply, I think Orbx could actually sell a lot more airport addons if they reduced their price and perhaps in the end achieve even better profits (which no one denies them as they have to recoup the costs of development and they are a business).  As things stand however, although I will almost certainly continue to add Orbx scenery to FSX but on a restricted area basis (if I can control my addiction!).

The description above implies that the entire country is covered, but it appears only the western half of the country is covered (at least on my system). Am I missing content or is this as far as the demo extends?

Demo page does say the whole country so if you are only seeing half then I would venture to guess something is a miss on your system.  This thread mentions that UTX Europe needs to be disabled?

I just downloaded and installed the demo last night and did my first flight ever in Orbx land of any kind. I have UTX Europe and did not disable it prior to the flight. I had no issues that I know of. I just put the Orbx stuff above all UTX stuff in the scenery library.

Turns out it was just an scenery LOD artifact. There was a hard scenery edge around 19'40"W that didn't start to resolve until I was practically on top of it.

It was to do with the Aerosoft airport, not the demo
