A lot to learn, in the next weeks :-)

An incredably beautiful aircraft!  Graphics above what I was expecting ( 3d cockpit and external model are top-notch! )

Oh, I've seen it includes already a LPPR-LEMD flightplan -probably my inaugural flight in the Neo :-)

Very good, I don't know deeply this aircraft.

1) Does it provide an extensive FMGS?

2) Can you compare to a PMDG?

3) When was the last update?

1)Isn't it called a CDU on an Airbus? From what I've seen, it's pretty extensive.

2)It has working weather radar and terrain radar, option for winglets and sharklets from the CDU, like PMDG would for options. Systems are pretty good too ;)

3)Last update was on the 04-09-13, check it out here http://airbus320neo.com/updates/

Also, see this thread http://forum.avsim.net/topic/425258-announcement-jardesign-a320neo-v20/ about the soon coming Version 2!

MCDU is just the units on the flight deck, FMGS is the actual computer system.

From what I have seen and read on the web page it does seem like they have done a good job, Not hugely Indepth but a good medium level sim.

Thank you Jesse for reply.

Very interesting, i was referring to upcoming V2. Any release date announced?

Sorry for the late reply...

Actually it has been replied already, and I haven't had the time to test it myself. It certainly looks very well done, and from the many sources I tried to base my final decision on, including videos, written reviews and posts at various forums, I decided to get this one.

I intend to test-fly it next weekend. It must be brought up from cold & dark, with the correct procedures being followed, and that means that I have to get time to do it properly :-)

If Rob said they did a good job, that's good enough for me. He has extensive knowledge of the Airbus systems.

Why wait so long? You can basically follow this tutorial from a full size simulator to get the Neo started. Takeoff, at least for an informal flight, is just the same as any other aircraft. Throttle up, pitch up, lift up.

Oh, I know ;-), but that's more a matter of time slots at the home PC. X-Plane 10 has been used for very short flights lately - wife busy with her own stuff, and just 1 PC ( well, 2, but the other is the Eec I take to the local bar to read the morning news at AVSIM :-)

But anyway, thnak you very much for this excellent video!  This, and the videos linked at their support page will be more than enough!

I also had the AXE in FSX - it is very didactic! I refreshed the typical scanning techniques I had long forgoten since I last played the Phoenix buses....

Ah yes. The multi-user PC problem. I remember having that issue myself.

I think you'll enjoy the A320Neo. I don't own the AX or AXE, but from what I've read others say, the products are comparable in systems depth. I get better performance out of it than the 777, and it's nice to have an aircraft suitable for shorter routes. It just feels wrong to take the 777 out for rides of less than 2 hours.

Now then... I've got a 757 in the hangar whispering my name...

I was really missing a "lighter" Airbus in my hangar. I have Peter's A380.

Took me some time to decide to go for this one. It's not really the A320 we know now, because the real NEO wasn't released yet, so latter I can decide between Peter's offer and the QPAC model v2.

Yes, one of the advantages of having moved to X-Plane 10 ** ONLY ** is also being able to focus my flightsim budget  on a single platform - the 757 is due in next month :-)

I am really enjoying the 777. The 757 can only be better.

Hi j.c.,

Since you had the AXE could you post some thoughts between the two?  I too is looking for a bus in XP10 for short haul flight while waiting for the IXEG 737-200.  If the Neo is comparable, I will jump.

Thanks
