All these comments and impressions have little meaning to me, 30 fps with a general aviation airplane can be obtained easily in FSX... The point will be when a complex aircraft such as the PMDG 737 or 777 comes out. How will the fps be?

So you CAN use REX as it is with P3D 2.0 (why wasn't that posted on the REX forum when I asked about it, I wonder?) Anyway, it seems some people have odd problems with it, like Marcel, so I am not sure if I want to use it right now. Then again, I only use REX for clouds and skies so I might give the clouds a try anyway. The default clouds suck too much.  ^_^

   I have the same graphics card and i use 3 or 4 monitors (4th is CDU II). Can you kindly give me details about the settings you use in Prepar3d and NI ?

p.s. : my first day was fantastic in terms of graphics but depressing in terms of joysticks control. I have Windows 8.1 and are forced to use JOYSTICKS=0 in cfg and temporary FSUIPC still not working, yet, i was grounded  :lol:

Graphics maxed and getting 30+ FPS in all the locations I tested - Ohare, San Francisco, Default.

No popups is a true game changer. Interior cockpit shadows were an unexpected bonus.

This is the future after a few bugs are fixed.

I'm on Windows 8.1 64 Bit

 

Many bugs left to iron out:

Had a few CTD errors: runtime error R6025 - pure virtual function call

Blackscreen happened numerous times

Joystick would randomly stop working

Joystick is a Windows 8 issue, not Prepar3D issue.

I had that error thismorning too,since I have Windows 7 too,I might try installing

there instead of 8.1

Blackscreen is a known issue, you need to switch off HDR lighting,

...and for black screen ATI users need to make sure P3D is started in Windowed Mode (then you can switch to Full Screen), and turned back to Window Mode before closing.   If you do this ritual, you can probably avoid any more black screens, when using ATI hardware. :smile:

Are the current version of FTXG compatible with P3D2? Or will update soon? And the REX Essential? Need to wait for an update or actually compatible?

This is a good sim!!...but what a pain in the "as" without a start up menu.

go into option/general and select it, next time it'll start up with start up menu . .    ;-)

Will, no, the volumetric fog doesn't rely on texturing.

@skywolf, if you're going to use REX wave animation, make sure to use the DX10 option.

So if we already bought the 1.4 license is it just a matter of telling it where the 2.0 directory is or is there another small license fee?

I just deleted it. performance and AA quality not near as good as my FSX Global FTX installation and havnt even loaded anything into it. Not very impressed.
