P3D V2 my thoughts

Featured Replies

I find it laughable that its our fault since its not a consumer product… None the less its a product to be sold. If this is a "commercial" product it should have higher standards, where I am from "commercial" grade usually means better than consumer

IMO P3D V2 is a poorly ported FSX that they are trying to build upon, but being its still a 32 bit program and nothing that I was promised of being able to take advantage of my computer has come true, and will never come true due to the limits of the 32 bit program not being able to allocate more memory. This is just another program that was aimed at 10 year old 32 bit computers.

After trying it out for a almost a month I feel duped I got excited over an improvement to FSX, in its basic form I don't see the improvement of FSX vs P3D V2 on my computer. As its clear both are very CPU heavy still.

And the key to P3D V2 success will be LM improving laughable bugs, its sad that some members have found solutions before LM could and LM posts on their forums average peoples solutions, if you sent me this program in beta it would of been clearly obvious form the get go that its full of issue,

P3D V2 might as well be named P3D beta 2.0

Well lets be honest here ..... one VERY good thing about your predicament, is that should you be unsatisfied with your purchase .............. you can get a refund!

I'm genuinely sorry that somebody made you a promise and that you feel duped. Regarding 32 bit programming, try XP10, as that's a 64 bit programme and will allow you the opportunity to allocate more memory. Just remember that it is quite different to FSX, so a learning curve for those that have the ability to adapt to it. Feel free to let us know how it goes for you, please.

Isn't consumer choice wonderful? Oh, did I mention you can get a refund if you are unsatisfied?

Now, now .... I'll go fetch my watering can! One good thing about being 18 hours ahead of you is that I have already been there, done that and already had that urge to get on here and tough it out !!!

Hope your head hurts in the morning. Merry Christmas.

When was the last time a major update was released for any flightsim, that didn't require a patch?

You are quite right, Arwen but what the heck is a nice girl like you doing, hanging out in a thread like THIS ????

Cheers, Mac

Now 40 bottles of beer standing on the wall .... 40 bottles of beer standing on the wall ..... It takes 1 Out Of Memory to bring the bast##ds down .... then theres no more beers standing on the wall !

I asked this in my lost post, but no one answered my question: "When was the last time a major update was released for any flightsim, that didn't require a patch?"

All software needs patching, even Windows 7. There has been other software, where, since it's initial release, there have been at least 50 bug fixes for the product. No software ever gets released completely bug-free or performance through the roof with all the settings maxed.

Speaking of something someone said a few pages ago about FSX's performance when it was initially released, it was kind of similar to P3D 2.0 in a way, but after a few patches it works great. I won't link the thread, but I'll just say it was similar to what they described.

You are right on that, I agree with you and I am sure you will agree with me that if Window 7 had been released without been compatible with other software/games some would have raised hell, was Window 7 or FSX in beta stage when released, were they compatible with other software when released?

The bottom line is that LM should have never released V2.0 when they did, there is no way they did not know about most of the bugs V2.0 is having right now, where are the beta tester, lets ask them about it....where are they?

V2.0 was not ready for released, period.
