April 17, 201511 yr Thanks fellows, GPS is installed, coupled with the autopilot. Tell me one more thing: where is the glide slope indicator? I can see the green LOC needle, but where is the GS? Thanks Csaba
April 17, 201511 yr where is the glide slope indicator? If you're referring to my EHSI, it appears on the right hand side when the GS signal is active, which is typically at a shorter range and within closer vertical and horizontal angular limits than to receive the localizer. Like the localizer CDI, it also doesn't appear in MAP mode. Hope this helps.
April 18, 201511 yr Thanks, I am referring to the original HSI. I did not manage to install yours, regrettably .(
April 18, 201511 yr I am referring to the original HSI The original HSI is a bit "funny" when it comes to ILS. If tuned normally. you won't get the glideslope, only the localizer as if it were a VOR. To get the glideslope, tune the ILS on NAV2 (or use the "DG" button), then press the HSI or ARC button repeatedly until you get a pair of blue crosshairs, which give you the vertical and horizontal deviation. If you need help with installing my EHSI (if indeed you wish to), you are welcome to ask on this forum or via pm.
April 21, 201511 yr I can't seem to find this in the airplane.cfg to modify [hydraulic_system] :( Gord
April 21, 201511 yr I can't seem to find this in the airplane.cfg to modify [hydraulic_system] :( Gord You may need to add that section, if it's not used in the stock aircraft. (Don't currently have the Metroliner installed to check).
April 22, 201511 yr The [hydraulic_system] section is between the [gear_warning_system] and [stall_warning] sections. 7950X3D + 7900 XT + 64 GB + Linux | 4800H + RTX2060 + 32 GB + Linux My add-ons from my FS9/FSX days
April 23, 201511 yr Thanks, it's there now, must have been added by the little people while the sandman was dancing about my head.
May 4, 201511 yr Ok, sorry to be a pest. Had some issues, wanted to start at default. I uninstalled Metro via Indows 7 control panel . Went and re-installed. I now only see 2 panel folders. What have I done?
May 5, 201511 yr There are only two panel variations for the Metro. 7950X3D + 7900 XT + 64 GB + Linux | 4800H + RTX2060 + 32 GB + Linux My add-ons from my FS9/FSX days
May 6, 201511 yr Wrong FSX path in the installer? 7950X3D + 7900 XT + 64 GB + Linux | 4800H + RTX2060 + 32 GB + Linux My add-ons from my FS9/FSX days
May 7, 201511 yr Yep! :( That's two strikes for me! I guess I should have thought something was up when the installer asked if it was okay to make folders. I assume I can just move them all over to their respective spots?
May 8, 201511 yr You might break the uninstall routine by that but yeah, just move them over. 7950X3D + 7900 XT + 64 GB + Linux | 4800H + RTX2060 + 32 GB + Linux My add-ons from my FS9/FSX days
July 28, 201510 yr So, I like this quirky plane. I've been flying it in FSE. I have some issues with it, though. I've installed the systems and switches sounds mods from this thread (nothing else). First, I cannot start it at all. I follow the checklist, have RTFM, and when I hit the start button, I get spool up sound, but no needles move and there is no ignition. I have to start some other airplane and then switch into the Metro. Second, there was an error message about sound files for the first few times I tried to fly it (usually at ending of flight). That seems to have gone away. But, since then, I'll be flying and I will occasionally lose power. The torque needles drop to nothing and won't budge again. This has happened several times on approach. I'll pull the power levers all the way back to lose speed and altitude (she's a sleek and slippery bird that doesn't slow down very fast), and I am unable to put power back on. There is engine sound, but no response. This usually ends in an off-airport landing (of the soft or not-so-soft sort), and once on the ground, the power can be added again. I usually take off and fly to the airport. This is not ideal, of course. Anyone else experience these issues or have any ideas. I love the plane, but this unrealistic (unless I'm doing something I don't understand that is causing this) behavior is souring me on flying it. EDIT: Just for grins, I loaded it up (running already) and shut it down by the checklist. Then I reset the mixture (CTRL+SHIFT+F4) and tried the startup sequence again. It worked. Whenever it has loaded cold and dark, I haven't been able to start it. So, now the main issue is the power dropping to nothing at times when flying, particularly on approach. EDIT 2: I flew around a bit, then pulled the power levers back. Left them there a minute or so, and when I tried to push the power levers forward again, my hardware levers didn't seem to control the VC levers. I could move them with my mouse, and then the hardware levers worked again. This is strange. It seems that FSUIPC doesn't play well with Razbam, maybe.
