January 9, 201412 yr I have the Saitek Flight Yoke Pro with 2 Throttle Quadrants. The configuration I want to use is from left to right - Elevator Trim, Spoiler, Throttle Engine 1, Throttle Engine 2, blank, Flaps. Configuring the Flaps was by far the easiest in FSUIPC4, then the Spoilers were fairly easy. The problems began with the Throttles which I will not get into it since I did figure it out. I am having trouble configuring the Elevator Trim Lever in FSUIPC4. It is very touchy and doesn't make sense (no, my pots are not dirty), one should be able to move the lever up to increase trim and lever down to decrease trim and the middle of the travel should put it in neutral. If only that were the case. So my question is; has anyone successfully configured the trim in FSUIPC4? Ric Elmore
January 10, 201412 yr PMDG do not recommend using FSUIPC to map any controls as per the manual. Besides, using a throttle lever for trim is a bit weird, most people use the small button on the left hand side of the yoke, so you can use your left thumb to control pitch up and down whilst using your right hand on the throttles, much like in the real aircraft. Additionally, there are some autotrim issues due to be fixed in SP1. Not sure if this has anything to do with it. Wes Meyer
January 10, 201412 yr Author You are right PMDG does not "recommend" FSUIPC for controls, however I have gotten them to work up to this point and I have gotten the trim to work somewhat acceptable. I am the kind of person if you tell me I can't, I will figure out a way I can. It may not be through FSUIPC but I will get Elevator Trim on the first lever just like the "Real" 777 has it, not on buttons. Ric Elmore

January 10, 201412 yr Hi, I'm unable to get the Pitch Trim to work on their 737NGX as well. I have to keep moving the pitch trim back and forth near the up position to get the pitch trim to go up. I also have to do the same near the down position to get the pitch trim to move down. I've had this problem since day one, have not be able to find a fix.. I have had limited success, but as you described one must fiddle with the lever to get it to cooperate. I think I am going to try to program the lever as a key press instead. Ric Elmore
January 11, 201412 yr HI spiers below the throttles you have a detente .they are seen by fsx as buttons you could try programming them to raise or lower the trim.i use two of them to trigger reverse thrust. hope this helps steve REX SKYFORCE 3D steve howlett
January 11, 201412 yr Off the top of my head: Can't you assign a "repeat button" function to a range on the throttle and assign that button to the pitch trim? On the other hand, the main pitch trim is indeed on the yoke/ control wheel. The trim on the pedestal is the alternate. (FCOM V 1, 9.10.2, 9.10.3, 9.20.10, 9.20.11) Christian Wendt
January 11, 201412 yr I have the Saitek trim wheel and could never get it to work for the NGX, and it doesn't work on the 777X either. It's only assigned in the FSX menu and works fine in all other aircraft.

I already have the reverse thrust programmed through FSUIPC4 using the detent switches from throttle 1 and 2. (FCOM V 1, 9.10.2, 9.10.3, 9.20.10, 9.20.11) Yes I have done that successfully, however the levers on the aircraft are then not animated. January 11, 201412 yr Yes I have done that successfully, however the levers on the aircraft are then not animated. What do you want to animate? I don't think they move when the "real" Pilots trim the a/c, as they most likely use the trim function on the control wheel, not the alternate trim. Christian Wendt

This is what I was alluding to in my earlier post. The STAB TRIM handle on the quadrant of the real aircraft, from what I have been told, is not normally used much, the switches on the control wheel or yoke are what is used. Hence, this is why I suggested using the switches on the left hand side of the yoke, or right if you wanted, so simulate the STAB TRIM function. I think the reason no one else has tried to do this is because it does not make complete sense, especially in a FBW aircraft. You are right PMDG does not "recommend" FSUIPC for controls, however I have gotten them to work up to this point and I have gotten the trim to work somewhat acceptable. So I get visual feedback that the trim is being adjusted in the correct direction when using the quadrant (remember we have no tactile feed back in FSX). How do you set trim prior to takeoff in your B777. I would like to do it off the Quadrant, is this wrong? Where did you get those throttle addons for the Saitek throttle? Flightsimpm I haven't received them yet, just ordered them last week. they are pricey. I ordered a set for my PMDG 737NGX also. Ric Elmore
