February 5, 201412 yr Ok, now for question 2! How do you shut off the music that plays in the default screen? Kill the musicians. Bill Alderson
February 5, 201412 yr If you don't want the music go to Settings->Sound and at the bottom uncheck the box that says, "Play user interface music." I turned mine off about the second day I had FSX. You can also choose between several selections. Or... go with Olli's suggestion above. Somehow, I didn't mind the music in MS Flight... but unfortunately some of the beta version music was better. Hook Great! It's not that I don't like the music, but it is so Loud! B. MY FLIGHT SIM BLOG http://deskpilot518.blogspot.com/ Proud supporter of Intercity Airways, visit www.ViaIntercity.com
February 5, 201412 yr Ok, I've got a reasonably silly question. For me, pushback works just fine. I have no problems getting the plane to turn in the direction I want it to using the default commands. The problem comes in that a tricycle landing gear plane works right, but a tail dragger (and I've tried several) have an enormous turn radius. You can tell they start the turn, but they'll never get to 90 degrees from the original direction on the same airport. This is mostly an issue with the DC-3. I use the default, but others have the same problem. Seems like the DC-3 pushback radius was correct before I installed the A2A B377 Stratocruiser. Don't know about other taildraggers. Great! It's not that I don't like the music, but it is so Loud! See Brian's post above on setting the music volume. Hook Larry Hookins Oh! February 5, 201412 yr My silly question is (probably been asked before)... How do I stop FSX reverting to the moving SPOT VIEW after setting it to FIXED SPOT VIEW at least FIVE MILLION *(£$*(£$ TIMES!! Is there a permanent way of preventing it I wonder? May 15, 201412 yr You can fix that, but I'll have to go research how I did it. Edit: Found it! http://www.fsdeveloper.com/wiki/index.php?title=RADItor I was able to fix a variety of problems with the A2A B377 Stratocruiser by changing the radius with RADitor. Turns out the bounding boxes in the model were off and the calculated radius was way too big. It fixed such diverse issues as the aircraft being too small in the preview animation and little to no engine sound on some external views. Hook Running through some searches, I found this fairly recent thread on RADitor, so it would only be fair to mention that this tool has also helped me fix my jumpy/glitchy external self shaddowing on aircraft within FSX as seen in the video. May 15, 201412 yr My best advice is not to fly the tryke. They are a death trap anyway. As if a helmet would do any good if an incident happened. Al Stiff
May 15, 201412 yr So now we must continue to wait for the most silliest question ever on AVSIM.
May 16, 201412 yr The silliest thing I once asked was how to change default size and location of the ATC window. Change the default flight I was told... One bonked installation followed by a reinstall taught me to never ever screw with the default flight, and don't chase perfection. My silly question is (probably been asked before)... How do I stop FSX reverting to the moving SPOT VIEW after setting it to FIXED SPOT VIEW at least FIVE MILLION *(£$*(£$ TIMES!! Is there a permanent way of preventing it I wonder? I've tried to solve this but couldn't and resorted to just making an f key shortcut for it. Ethan Edelson
