February 13, 201412 yr I use the Pro Flight Yoke and a second Throttle Quadrant plus The Rudder pedals from Saitek. The only thing to add besides what has already been mentioned, is that the second Throttle Quadrant is not a twin when it comes to the axis'. FSUIPC4 was invaluable to setting up the system, did not care for Saitek's drivers. Ric Elmore
February 13, 201412 yr I had a Saitek throttle until one day some of the potentiometers began to wear and cause many issues with smooth throttle control. Some people try to clean the pots by dismantling the unit and putting it back, hopefully in one piece. I did a few times, but eventually I was not happy with it. So I built my own, which has a better feel and overall performance. I am not suggesting that you build your own, but unlike the yoke, the throttles may not last as long. tony
February 13, 201412 yr Ian I have the same issue with my desk. I mounted it on top first with putty for mounting posters and such but replaced it with adhesive backed velcro when I set up my Cessna yoke. Did you have to remove the clamps to do this (perchance you can upload a photo)? I have the same issue, and I've been looking for a good solution. Thanks. Rob Rob Marton
February 13, 201412 yr Rob, All I did was mount the yoke to the top of the desk with http://www.walmart.com/ip/Duck-Poster-Putty-Removable-Reusable-Nontoxic-2-oz-Pack-5-Pack/17811787 I rolled the strips into long beads and put them on the underside of the yoke.Place it where you want it and press down on top of the case to seat it. I did it this way for quite a few years and it worked like a champ. But in turn it was hard to remove during the multiple times I had to open it up for repairs. Now I am using 2 inch wide velcro in the same way. A little more permanent but allows me to remove it and put it back quickly. Nicholas Chattaway
February 13, 201412 yr TBH I mounted my cessna yoke to the "under desk shelf" or whatever it is called and put one not read anymore book under it and used the stock mounting set. Works like a charm. Tomasz Zawadzki
February 13, 201412 yr Yeah, I was contemplating drilling a couple of holes into desk, and mount the clamps through it... but now seeing the velcro idea, I think I'll go that route. Rob Marton

February 13, 201412 yr Rob just one last suggestion. If you do go the velcro route put the soft side on the desk otherwise your wrists will regret it if you use it for anything else. Memphic I was going to do the same but I would have had to lock down my keyboard tray somehow so it didn't slide out and in every time I input elevator movement. That and I use mine for my keyboard and mouse. Nicholas Chattaway
February 13, 201412 yr Yeah, I was contemplating drilling a couple of holes into desk, and mount the clamps through it... but now seeing the velcro idea, I think I'll go that route. If you are going to drill your desk then forget the clamps. The Cessna Pro Yoke has four built in threaded bushings in the bottom. Get the right size hardware with the right thread and you can mount it that way. More secure than velcro, and with a small electric screwdriver you could remove the four small machine screws in less than a minute (doesn't take a Nascar wheel changer, HA!) The bushings are not as obvious as the ones on the top near the front for mounting accessory panels, but the ones on the bottom are there and can be used. The rear two are just in from the two centermost corners and the front two are in alignment with the rear two. You just need to find the right diameter machine screws long enough to reach through your desk, and some small washers. Another tip for Saitek yokes deals with the round DIN type connector on the throttle quadrant cable. I used to fuss trying to align it to connect it to the yoke. Finally I remembered an old trick from another application. I put a dob of liquid paper correction fluid on the connector to mark the top of it. I believe the first time I used that trick was to mark the null position of the vertical adjustment wheel on a CH yoke. February 13, 201412 yr Thanks for the advice on securing the yoke, even though I apologize for hijacking the the original poster's query. Rob Rob Marton
February 13, 201412 yr Thanks for the advice on securing the yoke, even though I apologize for hijacking the the original poster's query. Rob You can also use a small C-Clamp on either side. Works perfectly... You can also build all sorts of custom mounts for the throttles Have a Wonderful Day -Paul Solk
February 14, 201412 yr You can also use a small C-Clamp on either side. Works perfectly... Wow! That is some very nice looking work. Question, do the C-clamps have enough effect to keep the "nose" of the main yoke housing on the desk during use? My earlier yoke was a CH whose small standard plastic clamps on each side did not reach very far under the desk, and thus I had that problem, especially when pulling back on the yoke. February 14, 201412 yr I have owned the set from almost the day they came out, and have been very happy with them. The yoke's stickiness in the rudder axis improves with use. - Bill Magann
