There had better be plenty of UT2 AI planes at Aerosoft's EIDW Dublin when it is released....

I've noticed issues with EBBR (almost empty) and EHAM (some but not much) whereas for example at UK2000 EGLL I have hundreds of aircraft.

Aerosoft forums seem inconclusive at best, can't for the life of me work out what the problem is!

How is Traffic 360 compared to MTX and UT2, anyone in here using it?

I'm also shopping for a good AI package to be used for online flying on Vatsim and to replace my current IVAO MTL models since they are not FSX SP2 models.

Can UT2 be installed on another drive other than the FSX drive and the AI be aliased in the fsx.cfg? My SSD is getting full where FSX is installed. Thanks.

I dont think so because of the way it "injects" traffic into FSX, but dont quote me on that.

There is a couple of things about UT2 that you may not be aware. I used it for yonks, but switched to MTX 5.4. The reasons being, was no ai over large bodies of water ( Trans Atlantic ), aircraft popping up at my gate whist pushing back, little or no aircraft at some airports at night, UT@ does not overnight planes, they pop into existence about 30 mins prior to departure, sometimes stealing your gate as mentioned above.

I do miss watching UT2 planes  fly actual flight plans, versus MTX flying direct route, but the annoyances mentioned above was enough for me to give it the flick.

I know the models are not UT2 quality in MTX, but the variety of liveries is outstanding, and I use DX10 models, with no FPS or OOM hit which is a plus. Traffic slider set at 30, Heathrow is chocka with no hit.

Please don't take this as knocking UT2, I have used it, but it does have it's limitations.

I got it in one of their 6$ sales, and I was not impressed. As a MTX user, I see little point in getting Traffic360, because the models are of similar quality, and it gave me some headaches with added AFCAD files, which I have not yet experienced with MTX. The only thing that really distinguishes Traffic 360 and MTX is the user interface, which looks more up-to-date and professional for Traffic 360 - but then again you'd hardly ever use it for "normal" purposes.

Wow, $6...I wish they would have that kind of sale again and I would buy the product right away!

What about night lighting comparing MTX to Traffic 360?

this over water thing with ut2, a common topic...

in real life in the nat tracks, you would be on your own on them anyways, you have to keep a constant speed, alt and you can really only deviate 5 degress to the side of them. You cant go under them, over them, or use them the other way.  You can also only use them at the 2 time bands.  If you saw an aircraft coming towards you,or to the left or right of you you would be quite worried, as the spacing between tracks (a -b and x to y etc etc)  is a long way,The ruling on what you can and cant do in the MNPS is very clear.

My suggestion would be if your intent on seeing aircraft over the Atlantic then use the ut2 gui to make the ai use flightplans on routes to a certain way on all the transatlantic flights on prominent city pairs.. ie egll to kjfk then all the egll to kjfk will  fly that same route. etc etc.

I can see why people get annoyed at the over water issue, but the ai aircraft can only route over the route ut2 has got assigned for  that aircraft by default which is the spruce routes over iceland and greenland as thats the only way it can run a plan on airways to get across the pond.

I am not annoyed by it, I just mentioned it as not many new users are aware, and think there UT@ as broken down.

The biggest annoyance is UT2 resetting when you access the fsx menu, and what I mentioned above.
