Best all round AI Traffic package?

Featured Replies

Hi Guys

I've been "out of the game" for some time, and am now coming back into the wonderful world of FSX.

What would you say offers the best overall package of AI traffic?

A few points:

- I fly only jets, therefore GA traffic does not interest me in the slightest.

- I don't too much care about up to the minute schedules, but I want a "believable" environment when I depart or arrive at an airport. For example, when I go to Heathrow I expect to see lots of BA, quite a lot of Virgin/Aer Lingus/short haul Euro carriers like SAS/KLM/TAP/Iberia, plus a scattering of the long hauls like Singapore, Malaysia, Emirates, Qantas etc.

- I'd say I value FPS and visual quality evenly, so I'll happily accept a small FPS loss for decent visuals and good models

Thanks in advance

This is a very common question here, and you can search for previous answers.

That said, I recommend Ultimate Traffic 2 for the following reasons:

1. They use real world schedules (which you have the option to update--I don't)

2. The airports and skies are heavily populated with a large variety of airlines common to the airport

3. The aircraft themselves look crisp and detailed.

simple.

WOAI ... it´s free and in my opinion better than most payware.

There are torrents on the net for the complete packages, so you don´t have to load every single package one by one

WOAI is the only thing I use (I own UT2 and MyTraffic X Pro as well).

WOAI is for FS9, but the freeware tool AIFP2 can be used to convert the flightplans to FSX standard. It is done in a flash!

UT2 is awesome as it is but if you want to make it amazing you need to update the planes and the paints of quite a few airlines.

I agree UT2 is awesome, but be prepared to replace a lot of default paints, Just the idea of finding and adding repaints to UT2 is a lot of work but its a hobby within a hobby = lots of fun....

however there are many feel that its to much work to replace the default paints....

I don't mind that so much, I don't mind putting in a bit of work to get things the way I like them.

Are these repaints readily available? Presumably they're third party work that need to be downloaded and installed as a separate exercise?

ut2 is epic...have a look at my twitch chanel and the recent flights, its shows max ai traffic on a variety of routes.

Looking at UT2 for AI, but can it be run from a second PC over wifi ?

Cheers

It has taken a lot of time and effort for me to update some airline schedules, and add new ones in UT2. However, it makes a massive difference when compared to the default UT2. I only fly in the UK and Ireland, so I was only concerned with those aircraft that operate into and out of this region. However, it was still hard work, and I wouldn't want to have to do it all over again!
