Lately have been flying this C-47 freeware, this plane is a pleasure to fly, here are some shots.  I have to give credit, I forgot who from this forum helped me get this modelf8_zpsfb3ccce5.jpgf9_zps8d82ec1d.jpgf11_zps6fbb0d33.jpgred0_zpsf225f8ae.jpgred1_zpsf2bdc45d.jpgo1_zps2b7ed232.jpga7_zps22e201bb.jpga7_zps22e201bb.jpgp1_zps5a3def8f.jpg

Great shots.

Enjoyed your pics. The Manfred Jahn C47/DC-3 are so darn good. Makes me wish all the more that my computer wasn't in the shop for a virus debuging.

Manfred Jahn's C-47 Version 2, along with its animated slow prop start-up, is one of the best freeware aircraft ever released for MSFS. Now we are going to get a vintage VC, built by Jan Visser, no less. When you look at this model, and consider all the work thats gone into it, and still is as that VC comes together, you have to take your hat off to people and their generosity.

Wonderful shots and an impressive piece of freeware.  Any plans for this to be available for P3D?

As far as I know, it works in P3Dv2 without a problem. I've yet to try it myself, but once the vintage VC is completed and the model updated, I'll use the EMT to install it. It really is the definitive C-47; an essential add-on.

Pardon the language, but the damn thing looks better than a lot of payware I've seen.

Indeed !

Here's the thread showing progress on the vintage VC:

Check out the leather seats - impressive, to say the least.

this craft is one piece of work, she handles beautifully, and easy to fly, and its freeware, a lot of work was put into this craft, and there are a ton of repaints. Go get it!! Free... Free. you will be pleasantly surprised.

I'll use the EMT to install it.

No need for EMT - it's a manual install (you copy and paste files and folders).  Only other point to remember is about the sound - the aircraft as installed aliases the sounds from the FSX default DC-3, which isn't in P3D, so you'll need to copy it over.  The better solution is to install TuFun's soundpack (also available at Sim Outhouse) - it's much better, and you can point the aircraft.cfg at it.

I understand from posts on Sim Outhouse that the upcoming Version 3 (the one with Jan's vintage VC) will be a single download including the aircraft, the TuFun sounds and the texture basepack.  Should make life easier.

One last item - the beacon and strobes aren't working for me in P3D2.  Small price to pay for a great package IMHO.

Thanks for that Alan. I deleted FSX before Christmas and I couldn't quite remember if the C-47 came with an installer or not. I'll wait till Version 3 is out before loading it into P3Dv2.
