747 V2.0 Upgrade

Featured Replies

I think it all depends on you and your budget. If your budget is tight for your hobby (as mine is) I would wait. If not go ahead and get V1. It is still a great aircraft. I still fly her from time to time.

Thanks, Ron Fields

If I were you stick with NGX if you got it, I have both T7 and NGX I'm waiting for sp1 for T7 witch is a good product in the future, but I am having tech issues with the T7 and wish I would of waited for SP1. So I'm still flying NGX. But all is worth it being that PMDG is the best pay ware you can get. I to am excited about 747 V02 but have learned to be patient and wait for service packs as of now the T7 sets in the hanger waiting for the parts guy to deliver. Now my wish list PMDG MD80.

I would wait out, get the 777 or NGX. The 747 V2 will likely be with us in late 2015/2016.

I love the 747, but a price tag like that for a mostly FS2004 port over is not worth buying new at this point. Wait for the V2 would be my advice even if it's a while to go

I'd be willing to bet a considerable sum (*willing* to bet - not interested in actually betting anyone) that the 747-400 V2 won't be out before Summer 2015, and could be out as late as Fall 2015.

why do i not think it will not come in 2014?

the 777 was here in aug 2013,pmdg is comming with a new one so fast after.

there was 2 years between the 737 and the 777 there will be,the same between the 777 and the 747.

but i promise you it will be very high quality.

not comming i mean

Definitely not going to be any upgrade pricing for this - the original's been around for almost 8 years now (more if you take it all the way back to FS9). The new one isn't going to to reuse anything from the old - it'll be on par with the NGX and 777.

Definitely. It's not coming out in 2014, simply no.

Folks, remember the 747 v2.0 was in development long before the 777 was released, early 2013 iirc so we could be looking at the release by the end of the year or early 2015.

one thing we cannot rush the folks in PMDG when this plane comes out.  They are the number 1 developers for FSX, and patience is what we need now, then it will be released.  We cannot control  it. When it will be ready for release I am sure that is when it will come out.

PMDG, Project Tupolev. Hard to figure out who is number one out of these two.

Car manufacturers actually do, by making car dealers pay ridiculously high amounts of money for your old model: In the end, it works out the same as a discount for the new model!   :P

Well then could I trade in my V1 copy once V2 comes out?

My advice, don't buy PMDG 747! It's good airplane, systemwise. But kabin is very outdate, even in FS9 standards. MD11 is a much better plane, systems and graphics wise. To me personally it's boring though as it's very advanced. My manual flight skills are pretty much useless as normally autopilot is switched on right after take off. And having large computer screens in front of me aboard an airplane is a bit well... unusual.

PMDG 747 is expensive, very! For such old product. If you want old products, get Level D 767 with zinertek HD textures. My night ambience on the 767 is brilliant, and no blurryness and shimmering. 767 has no salon though, if this is important.

CLS 747 classic exist, but it's not very complex and is mainly just a toy to play around. But it's model is very nice.

Car manufactures have nothing to do with the value that is assigned to a used vehicle. The Used Car Department appraises trade-in vehicles on new vehicles and that's that. I spent 14 years at dealerships and that is the way it works.
