March 21, 201412 yr Hi I am considering purchasing the 747. Will owners of the 747 be able to upgrade to V2.0 when it eventually comes out at as a discounted price? I'm trying to justify spending $54.95 on the current version if V2.0 comes out later this year (?) and I would have to pay full price to acquire it (2.0) Cheers Jamie
March 21, 201412 yr its not comming this year,i bet my life on that where do we send the flowers?? steve REX SKYFORCE 3D steve howlett
March 21, 201412 yr Will owners of the 747 be able to upgrade to V2.0 when it eventually comes out at as a discounted price? It's been mentioned before somewhere in the forum that it will be a completely new product, so no discounts for previous version users (the old version has been around for a long time) its not comming this year,i bet my life on that I think you're pretty safe! March 21, 201412 yr Hello Jamie,, I don't think you are looking at the economics. People like me who have the V1 which sometimes is a bit iffy, will, I suppose, have to pay the full price of the V2 if we want it, you on the other hand, if you wait for the V2 will only pay once. March 21, 201412 yr I wonder why, example, Ford do not offer me a discount because I simply bought the old model? Gerry Howard
March 21, 201412 yr I wonder why, example, Ford do not offer me a discount because I simply bought the old model? Car manufacturers actually do, by making car dealers pay ridiculously high amounts of money for your old model: In the end, it works out the same as a discount for the new model! What happened to AVSIM
March 21, 201412 yr Author It's not a case of wanting a discount, it's just that it would be a bit daft to spend $55 on a product when a brand new version is coming out at some point. I was trying to justify doing it.
March 21, 201412 yr I bet my current bottle of vodka PMDG 747 V2 will not be realised and released in the next two years. And this means a lot.
March 21, 201412 yr Commercial Member The new version is not an "upgrade" and, from what I understand, will be priced as a fully new product because it's a fully new product (just as the NGX was, despite there being an older FS9 NG model). Kyle Rodgers
March 21, 201412 yr if i were you i'd invest the money in the 777. then when the 747v2 comes out you get that one, too. that way you will have 2 amazing aircraft and every penny spent will be perfectly justified! i dare to say that if you already own the 777 you probably wouldn't be overly impressed with the old 747 anyways (in terms of visual appeal inside the airplane, the systems are just as great). March 22, 201412 yr look, it took years for the NGX... so dont hold your breath for V2 for the 747. Then again, P3D is also another option but even with that there will be seperate purchases. March 22, 201412 yr they say they will use same coding for the 777 on the 747 v2, and they were actually working on it while developing the 777, but not in mass development and untill now they are focusing on the 777 with -300 and SP1, so i guess it will take some time a year from now is a good bet Moe ELkarout
March 22, 201412 yr Well, the NGX has been released around August 2011. It took around 2 years to release the 777 base package afterwards. I'd say don't hold your breath. $55 on the 747 v1 will keep you happy and flying the Queen for another 2 years. Sounds pretty reasonable to me but then again, it's your budget. Cheers, Balint Nagy
