March 25, 201412 yr I have MTX 5.4c and I had ai set to 20% like the manual states and barely saw any ai at the airports or in the air. I set it to 30% and still no difference. I was flying out of KDSM and there were no aircraft at the terminals or in the air for 50 miles. I have tried this at different times of the day. I also tried this at KTPA and same results. I would like to have traffic at the gates, taxiing, departing/arriving but no luck so far. Any suggestions? Josh Scholl
March 26, 201412 yr You need to check if you have an FS9 flight plan stuffed somewhere, if you do you will get no FSX AI Traffic. Ric Elmore
March 26, 201412 yr Author Where would I find that? I have seen like one jet at the gate but no taxi/departing/arriving aircraft. Josh Scholl
March 26, 201412 yr Don't have the name of the programme to hand but if you search the forum for " converting fs9 flight plans to fsx " , you are bound to find something . I had the same " problem " after installing scenery with added flightplans and this programme sorted this for me with a few mouse clicks . John

If you have your airport scenery complexity set high, it will take about 10-15 minutes for the fuel trucks and baggage trucks have to do their routine before a MTX AI plane can push back. Burkhard has mentioned this in the past when people noticed that planes won't move. When I load FSX, I usually wait for about 15 minutes before I start my scheduled flight to see the MTX planes push back and depart.
March 26, 201412 yr This tool https://www.justflight.com/supportfaq/traffic-x#5f33feb checks for FS9 format flightplans, no matter which AI traffic addon is installed. You don't need Justflight's AI traffic for it to work. What happened to AVSIM
March 26, 201412 yr I had the same problem initially with MTX. After adding it to the scenery library, AI traffic suddenly came to life. I have mine set on 20% and see traffic galore. Chris Sunseri
March 30, 201412 yr Author I tried the program and my traffic is checked in my scenery library. I sat on the tarmac for over 30 minutes at KLAX and not a single aircraft was there. The skies were empty, which I know is never true at LAX. It is Fsdreamteam KLAX but that shouldn't have anything to do with it. Any other suggestions? Josh Scholl
March 30, 201412 yr There's an option in one of the MTX tools to check for a necessary fsx.cfg entry and, if missing, to add it. Sorry, if this sounds a bit vague, but I use a different traffic addon, so can't track it down exactly. What happened to AVSIM
March 30, 201412 yr The problem you have is the fact you selected a schedule (like the 2013 schedule). Don't select a schedule and you'll have tons of AI on your airports. Select a schedule and you'll have to wait until the aircraft in the schedule arrive. I found this out recently when reinstalling MTX. As recommended by Jim Skorna, uninstall/reinstall. March 30, 201412 yr Don't select a schedule and you'll have tons of AI on your airports I found that out the hard way once as well Jim. Simply install it, make sure it's activated in the scenery library, then watch out because the AI will come out of the woodwork. I think 20% traffic levels (which is what I use) is comparable to about 75% with just stock FSX AI (no add-on traffic programs installed). I messed around once and set MTX to 80% and got mad because I couldn't get out to the runway due to the traffic. It took a mid-sized airport like Tulsa and gave it the traffic levels of Atlanta! 20% I find is a perfect balance. I also concur with Jim and Jim's recommendations for an uninstall. Be sure to follow what it says in the manual and upon reinstall you should be all set: 1. Start the My Traffic Manager and click Configure My Traffic/remove aircraft scenery and schedules and let it finish 2. Next start FSX and delete My Traffic from the scenery library 3. (Optional) remove the MTX entry from the FSX.cfg ( I've never had a problem with removing it or just leaving it there when I reinstalled before) 4. Then uninstall it from the MTX start menu (you could also uninstall using a program like CC Cleaner) Chris Sunseri
March 30, 201412 yr Author I will do that. I wonder how it checker a schedule. I just did the manage fsx like instructions said and added mtx to the scenery library. That was it. Josh Scholl
March 30, 201412 yr I'm not really sure what schedule it uses from the get go, but I was amazed at how hands off it is. Yeah, you might see some outdated liveries at a few locations, but if it's eye candy you want, it's eye candy you'll get. Hopefully your reinstall goes well then you can start playing with the AI levels. As I mentioned above using the Tulsa example it can get real busy real quick with so much AI. It also gives you a bunch of military planes. I flew to Hawaii yesterday from the west coast and saw C-5's C-17's, AWACS, RC-135's, widebodies from Delta and United along with some 747 freighters just to mention a few. Closer to the islands the GA traffic picked up nicely. You'll be impressed once you get it working! Chris Sunseri
