April 9, 201412 yr After tweaking and understanding Prepar 3D 2.2 Im enjoying it. Only issue is trying to create an IFR flight plan, after I created it and I press OK or Save. Prepar 3D crashes. Hope you can help because I dont want to re install since finally have it working nicely Windows 7 Active Sky Next Track IR
April 9, 201412 yr I just did a test, and YES, P3dv2.2 now crashes on saving an IFR (High Alt) flight plan (maybe others, too). It does, however, read existing files. Disappointing. Luckily, I use FS Commander to create my FPs. Frans Kes
April 9, 201412 yr motoadve, My 2.2 install went great (patch) and last evening, for the first time, I went to flight planner - put in a flight, then clicked SAVE - it set for about ten seconds, and CRASHED to desktop. I restarted and got the same results - Have tried it several times and same results........... Config is plain vanilla! I know LM had this problem when v2.0 first came out - Let's hope a reinstall will help.....Wes Bard say's to remove the 4 files (shown on the P3d Site) - restart pc, and reapply patch. I'm going to try this today and hopefully it will "fix it"... IF not, then I'm in deep crap. April 9, 201412 yr Moderator The flight planner is "broken" at the moment. Wes Bard and company are aware of it and have it as one of their priority items for v2.3 which is currently under development. Fr. April 9, 201412 yr Me too, like the OP I've finally got this working the way I want and now flight planner doesn't work, arrrrgghhhh!
April 9, 201412 yr n4gix, THANK YOU for the "heads-up" - I did a "re-patch" to no avail.........was afraid I was going to have to go from scratch.... GOOD to know..........lived with that problem with 2.0 initially until they had a fix..... April 9, 201412 yr To anyone with ASN: I found that I can create and save a fight plan in Active Sky Next and it will load ok in P3Dv.2.2 ~ Arwen ~ Home Airfield: KHIE
April 10, 201412 yr Just dont patch to 2.2 it seems. I patched to it tonight. And bang no more flight plans. How nice. I hope they fix it soon... perhaps they should hire someone to test their patches before they release them?
April 10, 201412 yr Interestingly, I used the p3d2.2 Flight Planner to modify a FP created by FS Commander so that the aircraft would be parked at a gate, and then saved it. P3d2.2 did not crash! It only seems to crash after you actually create a route. Frans
April 10, 201412 yr The ghost from 2.0 is back... P3D Team said they are working on a hotfix for the flight planner. I never fly without one, so I'm just fooling around in v2.2 at the moment. Simmerhead - Making the virtual skies unsafe since 1987!

April 10, 201412 yr I recently purchased version 2.1....weeks before the 2.2 upgrade. I decided to uninstall 2.1 and download the full version of 2.2. Everything went smooth, however, just like those of you who installed the patch, saving a flight plan or creating a flight log will produce the "Fatal Error" message. I use Opus for weather and have not learned enough about it yet to know if it will create a flight plan that P3D will recognize and use in place of the default flight planning interface.
