Being British, I have to say I'm quite ashamed that it always seems to be the British who are making trouble at Avsim.

Of course, you guys invented Punk Rock, what did you expect!

PS: That's just a joke.

Yup... that's the case. I actually ran the idea of banning the entire country among our volunteers, but then was quickly reminded that nearly half of them resided in the UK at the time...

Tom,

Thanks for checking on my donation. All good.

As for Dave? Wow, seemed like a nice enough dude. But yoy never know I guess.

If I understand correctly, the harassing calls were made after Twiglet was banned initially? What was the reason for the first ban?

The Internet can be a strange place. For all the positive things it does, it seems to bring out the worst in so many people.

Including Avsim, I've been active on maybe four large website/forum communities over the years, and every one of them has had its major dramas involving either members or staff.... From the utterly silly to the criminal. About twelve years ago I actually started my own forum and ran it for about a year before handing over the reins. I got a first hand education as to how stupid and irrational people can be on the Internet.

I don't envy you at all Tom.

Please re-read my post above... and where would you get an "understanding" at all?

Neither does my wife.... but that's another story. :Big Grin:

From your original post, which is confusing me a little, I can infer two things:

1. Twiglet was banned temporarily for some reason, then you received harassing calls which were connected to that account, and then decided to ban Twiglet again, permanently.

2. You received harassing calls which were connected to Twiglet, and then decided to ban the account permanently.

Which order of events is right?

Please don't tar all us Brits with the same brush. I'd hate to be banned from AvSim for being British :(

Ain't going to happen. Our brothers on that smallish Island across the pond make up just shy of 15% of our membership and more than a couple of staff. We (AVSIM) are not tarring any country. Please do not get defensive.

Don't infer anything. I am not going to discuss timing, or the sequence of events. Leave it at that.

Tar's all right, it's when they start with the feathers you have to worry!

I don't understand what harm would be caused by clarifying the sequence of events, but anyway, Iet's leave it at that as you said.

Very good Ron, but I think you'll find it's two days in the bathroom applying 1 1/2 Gallons of paint stripper. The feathers just clog up the plughole.

Not only plugholes.

I spent a couple of hours yesterday taking my PC apart to clean all the dust out... found more than a few of my parrot's feathers inside.

So let that be a word of warning. Feathers. Bad for plugholes. And computers.
