May 12, 201412 yr Moderator Just got this in an email === X-Plane 10 support added! ===We are now supporting X-Plane 10 with regular FMS Data updates! The X-Plane 10 dataset updates waypoints, navaids and airways in the simulator itself. The data is available for the remainder of cycle 1405 as a beta release, during which we ask you to provide feedback in our support forum. The full release is expected for cycle 1406.A glance at how the area around ZBAA has improved:http://www.navigraph.com/downloads/xplane-zbaa-1405.png..and around KTPA:http://www.navigraph.com/downloads/xplane-ktpa-1405.pngIf are using the FMS Data Manager (http://www.navigraph.com/FmsDataManager.aspx), make sure you have the latest version installed. When updated, go to the Addon Mappings section. If you have X-Plane installed, just press Scan and it will be detected automatically. The data is also available for manual download at http://www.navigraph.com/FmsDataManualInstall.aspx.I wonder how this will work with the new GPS coming in 10.30
May 12, 201412 yr I saw that too.... And wonder how it will affect GPS | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |
May 12, 201412 yr I wonder how this will work with the new GPS coming in 10.30 Conjecture, of course, but... It will probably be just fine considering the X-Plane data formatting doesn't seem to be changing with the 10.30 release. If Navigraph is leveraging the standard X-Plane data format, I'm going to wager it'd be no problem at all... Perhaps the new GPS capabilities of 10.30 is what got Navigraph interested in the first place....
May 12, 201412 yr Competition is good. The database from which approaches are loaded is provided by Aerosoft. A current database will be provided once with X-Plane 10.30, and further updates will be available on a subscription basis. http://developer.x-plane.com/2014/03/new-approach-capable-gps-navigator-in-x-plane-10-30/
May 12, 201412 yr Very good news indeed! No need anymore to update the data with complicated procedures! ;-)
May 12, 201412 yr Author Moderator Indeed, this is great news, especially in that it will work with apps which hook into the X-Plane data, such as some nav apps on the iPad and iPhone, such as AirTrack :-)
May 12, 201412 yr Hi gents, the current released XPlane10 dataset is completly different to the new upcoming for the GPS in 10.30. The new GPS dataset is still ready (it´s the AXE 1.15 format with very small changes). As soon as the new version 10.30 with the GPS will be released, we can offer the dataset for this GPS too. But most of the current addons, use the standard XPlane10 database (ie. UFMC) and therefore is this update important too for us. Again, version 10.30 will be used the current, still in place dataset AXE v1.15 - nothing more. May 12, 201412 yr Thanks for your work Richard. Great to have updated data base that relates to the real world available. Trevor Golding
May 13, 201412 yr Author Moderator Great, thanks for the info Richard and for providing a more up-to-date database. One thing I hate is doing a VOR to VOR flight, only to find one of the VORs or waypoints is missing, so this is good news :-)
May 13, 201412 yr Thank you Tony, the dataset isn´t still perfect (some localizer issues), but I have found a solution and I´m still working on it. Revision 2 isn´t the final version :-) Thanks again for a great alternative to the MS simulators - have never used XPlane but now ... WOW - I´m really impressed - really! May 24, 201412 yr Hi guys, revision 3 is out now. The LOC alignments are improved and should be ok now. Further, we have fixed a few small bugs in the airway file for the glideslopes and the marker. All in all, it looks good for a public release with the upcoming AiRAC 1406 next week. I´m currently working on an update of the APT-file because, there are a lot of wrong/outdated runway idents and I need this as reference to calculate the right alignments - we will offer this update too as soon as possible! May 26, 201412 yr New cycle on Thursday 29th may will update all my add on's +X-Plane WOW an all in one for everything. What so special about Navigraph data ? Whats the difference between Nav and the Aerosoft data in the new gps ? AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D, RTX 4080S, Ram - 32GB, 32" 4K Monitor, WIN 11. Eric Escobar
May 27, 201412 yr Commercial Member Yes, I wonder myself. X-Plane Data is GPL licenced, as it's used also in Flightgear. So will FGFS users also be able to do for ex. star/sid flights? Will UFMC/XFMC etc. support sid/star? Might X-Plane itself go back to one single data source for default instruments later with that?
