Best Atc Addon For Ifr Flying

Featured Replies

I would like an addon that has regional accent, and that is primary for IFR. Would love to know what my fellow PMDG Pilots use for an ATC. Kinda getting tired of the FSX ATC at this point lol.

If you are talking about the accent of the controller matching the country you are flying, the closest would be PFE.

Yeah exactly that. For example, let say I fly from the KORD-EDDF, I want to hear a German accent while I'm flying over Germany, and so on.

Radar Contact 4.

There is nothing like descending into Tokyo Narita whilst being guided by a broad Mancunian ATC.

As surreal experiences go, its hard to beat, and cheaper than drugs.

It's been a while since I have used PFE (I use VOX), but if I remember, it has a load of voices of all different accents, but I don't think there is a way of making it change from one accent to another, i.e. American English to German English.

A more current user of PFE might be able to fill you in better than me.

PFE does change accents as you fly through different regions.

PFE is what you are looking for. If you fly from KORD to EDDF, at KORD, controllers and US pilots will have American accents. Air france pilots will have French and Emirates pilots will have Arabian accent. After take off, American air space will have American accents, Canadian will have Canadian and so on. The same when you overfly the UK, Holland and finally Germany. Along the route different airlines will have their respective accents.

Although RC is good, it is not what the OP is looking for. It doesn't have regional accents.

Lol this is what confuses me often. There isn't a clear cut ATC addon better than the rest, which makes it harder to decide. I'm sold on PFE at this point. I'm pretty sure that will end up getting it. However, what makes RC so good?
