Skymaxx V2 ... wow

I found Efass with SMP2 gives me a sort of small reality bubble whereby clouds fade in then fade out quickly as I fly by. (B732@15000ft) Beyond a few miles out there's just no clouds at all, very weird.

I have not purchased EFASS yet. Tried today with the free version again. EFASS was displayed on a second monitor and injected some nice clouds at Key West. Enroute I noticed a very bad frame rate. After the fps was displayed I noticed 14-16. I shut EFASS down and after a few seconds it jumped to 40+.

I had a similar experience while flying the JarDesign A320-Neo today near Richmond, VA. I wasn't running EFASS on a second monitor but it did certainly kill frame rates. Maybe it's because SMP is rendering more clouds because of a more accurate weather injection? It might be hard to tell as support at EFASS has been noticeably absent as of late. I wish I had held off a couple of weeks before I shelled out the money for it.......It's a nice app though and hopefully it will not go offline.

yeah this is why I don't use EFASS, because for some reason it stutters the sim in exactly the way that you two have described above.

If UltraWX is modifying the altitude values for the cloud layers the sim will recalculate cloud formations and completely kill performance.

Author of Gizmo64 for X-Plane.

I'm still leaning towards EFASS Ultra WX + default clouds for airliner, as SMP gives impressive formations but doesn't do it for me in FL cruise in terms of coverage. I would like to keep the latter for GA sorties, but if I have to uninstall everytime it to get the default clouds back that will get tiresome.

That might explain what I started noticing when I did an extended flight. Horrible freezes along the way while running efass.
