Yeah, you're missing something. There will definitely be a MCDU.

My guess is that this refers to MCDUs prior to the (real) A350.

Having read the beta preview, I will be giving this one a pass, no sid/star support means more or less no online flying.

There are dozens of "lite" aircraft available for XP, so I'll wait and see what the later "Pro" version will be like.

 

IMHO Aerosoft have got the complexity level balance perfect with their A3xx series; just about everything that the left-seat PF does is simulated, with stuff like failures left out (that very few people use).

Well, usually you know beforehand where you will fly. So you could easily use the feature Stephen describes in his preview:

 

 

So where are my SID-STARS? well there isn't any (on this version) but you can not only save the whole route to the X-Plane FMS file but also any SID and STARS you have created (as a header and footer to your route) and it is done.

 

1) Decide for a route you want to fly.

 

2) Create .fms files with the SIDs and STARs you will most likely use (you can do that for example in Plan-G, and that's really a matter of two or three minutes, and if you fly the same route more often, you only have to do it once -- in other aircraft I fly SIDs and STARs regulary simply by entering the waypoints in the default fms. No problem since X-Plane's navigation data can be regulary updated by NavDataPro or Navigraph. The waypoints are all there.)

 

3) Select your SID/STAR .fms file in the A350.

Sure Mario I get that you can do it that way, it's just that there are other a/c out there with fully-featured fms, i.e. FlightFactor's very own 757 and 777. (I don't include the JD A320 as that is not really fully-featured but you get my drift)

Anyone flying this aircraft?  Looks pretty systems heavy typical of FF. But the FMC is a little lacking.   Does X-FMC make up for it and make it worth to fly?

I bought it and flew it a few times but due to it's lack of SID and STAR planning I deleted it. Waiting for an update from FF but don't hold your breath. I would spend your money on something else to be honest just my opinion.

Does it not have detailed systems? Looks to be well modeled otherwise from the videos it appears. Did you not try the X-FMC addon in meantime?

Not sure why so many aircraft keep omitting a proper MDCU
