September 1, 201411 yr Don't forget the Quality Wings 737 Classic. Thats going to be a nice change from the 'modern' NGX. Quality Wings, PMDG and FSL have nice products on the production line for us. Not forgetting the Aerosoft A319/318 although I won't be getting V.3 A320 from Aerosoft I sure will be getting the 319 & 318!
September 2, 201411 yr There's more than enough shovelware (both GA and airliners) to entertain you till the end of time, should shovelware be your kinda thing*, but genuinely high quality, high fidelity A2A/Realair/PMDG/Majestic type planes, they aren't that common, and for P3D the situation is even worse. My biggest worry in this space is that we will continue to be flooded with very average Carenado level aircraft which diminish the share of wallet available for those who want to get it right, not just "good enough". Personally, Q400 Pro and anything A2A put out under the Accusim label (they claim one is coming before Christmas). And maybe the Aerosoft A319, never been that taken by Boeings and I'm not convinced the FSL A320 will land before I die. * "You" in the general sense, not having a go. LOL, some people. Personally, I don't own any FSX aircraft from PMDG and probably never will, Nor do I own the majestic Q400 or accusim for that matter. For me they would be a waste of my money, What is "high quality, high fidelity" to one is not to another and I am happy to share out of my wallet for the ones that get it right...for me. Personally I AM waiting for the Citation ll and the Hawker 850 from Carenado. I am also waiting for the MilViz MD530F and the nemeth BK-117. Best, Michael KDFW

Well if you are happy with very pretty but ho hum fidelity, or can't tell (or value) the difference, good for you. I don't own a single PMDG product, the Q400 is about as complex as I'd ever want to get, but the difference between your Carenado and your Realair/A2A GA in terms of feel and fidelity is night and day. If Carenado decide to up their game so that their systems and flight modelling match the quality of their (admittedly gorgeous) visual modelling, I might look forward to their releases, as it is they are definitely in the "couldn't give a rat's &@($* about them" category.
September 2, 201411 yr I don't own a single PMDG product, the Q400 is about as complex as I'd ever want to get The Majestic Q400 has the same level of complexity as any PMDG aircraft. You really should look at the NGX to complement the Majestic Q400. Ian R Tyldesley
September 2, 201411 yr I do agree with the viewpoints expressed about Carenado to be honest. They have become lazy in my opinion. A cash cow that releases beautiful modelling and texturing, with ever decreasing attention to flying fidelity, systems, operational realism, and "that X factor of quality". Their last few releases, (up until the Alabeo DA40*, I have bought, but have just felt very sterile and unconvincing. As Flying Penguin said, flying a Carenado / Alabeo addon is such a contrast to flying something like an A2A or RealAir, where overall attention has been paid to the immersiveness of the experience - not just the prettiness of the texturing. That said, if people are primarily concerned with scenery (1mikel151's profile does state that he's a "scenery guy"), then of course it's understandable that offerings like Carenado / Alabeo's, that offer pretty textures, over a default style systems aircraft, may be all that's needed. .......... but it is a Flight Simulator.. Cheers. *Carenado and Alabeo are essentially the same thing, as far as I'm concerned, with just a slight difference in the proposition. The Majestic Q400 has the same level of complexity as any PMDG aircraft. You really should look at the NGX to complement the Majestic Q400. Agreed!
September 2, 201411 yr The Majestic Q400 has the same level of complexity as any PMDG aircraft. You really should look at the NGX to complement the Majestic Q400. I meant I'm more of a very short haul kinda person, so the Q400 suits me down to the ground, whereas the NGX and bigger are a little bit too long legged to be used properly within my available flying time, plus it has the advantage that it's far more interesting than your run of the mill Boeing (to me at least). Also, I'm not going to buy any PMDG products until they get their P3D act together, but that's another conversation...
September 2, 201411 yr I meant I'm more of a very short haul kinda person, so the Q400 suits me down to the ground, whereas the NGX and bigger are a little bit too long legged to be used properly within my available flying time Ah...my apologies Mr. Penguin. I misunderstood your comment. Again, you still may want to look at the NGX, there is a large cross-over between the flight ranges, the NGX can be used very comfortably on 40mins - 1hr segments, same as i use the MJQ400 on a 2hr flight from EGPH to EGJJ. I'm not going to buy any PMDG products until they get their P3D act together, but that's another conversation... Indeed my friend, many topics on this. You could always look at the iFly 737, i hear very good things about it, I understand it's compatible with P3D. Ian R Tyldesley
September 2, 201411 yr Indeed my friend, many topics on this. You could always look at the iFly 737, i hear very good things about it, I understand it's compatible with P3D. I think I'm going to wait for the PMDG situation to shake out first, it's not like I'm short of decent aircraft to fly, between this and DCS I think I'm going to be busy for many months to come B)
September 2, 201411 yr SIMAIR from REX I'd put this in the same cat as the Level D 757...what's it been 3.5 years since the silly guess the name contest? Don't get me wrong I'd love to see it finished and released but I'm not holding my breath anymore. I have more faith in Air Hauler II actually being released than Sim Air RE Thomason Jr.
September 2, 201411 yr Commercial Member For me, lots of things to look forward to in the near (and not quite so near) future: - Milviz KA350i (yeah, I know it's sort of available now, but since it's still in preorder/beta, it makes this list) - Milviz F4E (as above) - Aerosoft F-14A/B - Aerosoft PC-6 I could probably also put Lionheart's Learjet on this list it's not yet released at any of the stores where I'd be willing to buy it! Jim Stewart Milviz Person.
September 2, 201411 yr I could probably also put Lionheart's Learjet on this list it's not yet released at any of the stores where I'd be willing to buy it! Dang don't want to hijack the thread but what's wrong with Simmarket? Last I counted I've had four pages worth of transactions with them and never an issue, links never expire, always tell me about updates etc. I suppose we all have our favorites though. I sort of feel the same in that I like buying my add-ons from one place for consistency especially in the event of a new system build etc. Watched the live feed on ADX, Looks good but I think I'll wait for a few more positive reviews or try picking it up later on a sale. I'm ready to try something new in P3d but would prefer more of a commercial jet. RE Thomason Jr.
September 2, 201411 yr Commercial Member Yes, the PMDG DC-6 is the addon I'm looking forward the most. And of course the Pro Version of Majestic's excellent Dash-8 Q400. These two are right at the top of my wish-list as well. It's been rather a long wait for both hasn't it! To be honest - like Flying Penguin - I don't have much appetite for the long or even medium haul stuff, but I'm sure the DC-6 will be irresistible. I own the PMDG 737 and it still gets the odd outing, but the Q400s just really ticks the airliner box for me (terribly unambitious I suppose). I guess it's years away, but the Majestic Q300 might suit me even better... Also looking forward to A2As next GA/trainer offering which I'm hoping will be somewhat ancient in the style of the Cherokee but more complex with retractable gear and a nice HSI. However, the mischievous part in me is tempted to start a thread entitled "A2A DC-3!" and see if the number of hits it generated would persuade them to (finally) make us one of these. Failing a DC-3/C-47, a Lockheed Electra or Beech Model 18 would do nicely... Nick Nick M - A2A Simulations

I believe some people like to buy from online stores within their home nation. Eg... there are a few people in the US that don't like to buy from Simmarket because they're based in Europe. (and sometimes vice versa). Not really sure why.
September 2, 201411 yr Is there a Hardcore MD80/90 add-on out there yet? Captain K-Man FlightBlog Channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCulqmz0zmIMuAzJvDAZPkWQ // Streaming on YouTube most Wednesdays and Fridays @ 6pm CST Brian Navy
September 2, 201411 yr Is there a Hardcore MD80/90 add-on out there yet? There has been for ages! The Leonardo Maddog MD-80 has to be at the top of any high-fidelity simulation list. The visual model is a FS9 portover, so not the best tradeoff of looks for performance. Nonetheless it isn't a performance hog, doesn't look like a pig and systems/FM are beyond top notch.
