Angle of Attack "Trial"

Featured Replies

No one forces to force you to do anything, including charging your card. I read the Attack of Attack website and it didn't force me to do anything.

Also the Angle of Attack site wording seems clear:

  • Cancel Any Time
  • Free 7 Day Trial
  • $54.99 After Trial

That seem clear cear - unless you expect to continue using it after the trial period?

You are right, however unless you cancel your trial before 7 days your card will automatically get charged full price for the full package and the OP clearly only wanted to use the 7 day trial. This means that you do not have to buy the package in order to use the trial but unless you cancel it in time the training package will be a transaction made on your card.

But wasn't that the clearly advertised deal - so what was the OP's problem?

I have no problem. As i've said, before, I didn't know you could cancel. Now I know you can cancel if you dont like the product, however I still don't like how you must provide your credit card info just to get the trial..

And its not usual to automatically charge your card after the trial ends.

Hey Tushka, good diligence, Aeroflot should be proud of ya.

Good to see more Tolstoys and Dostoevskys coming in on these boards as well.     :P

Dirk.

And do not forget that if you wish to download the videos, as apposed to just watching them online, you will again be charged additional amounts.

Arnie....if it ain't broke, don't fix it...

Seriously? I know that every addon developer does a benefit for flight simulator but these really seem to be only in for it because of the money seeing their money practices. Maybe they have a charge for you to use their website as well   Remembers me a bit of Ryanair.

Ouch!

Yes, seriously. I cancelled my subscription for the 737 when it all changed about 18 months ago.

It is much more common than you think, just not in the FS world. Take those credit score companies for example, they require your card # to check what your score is, but what they don't make clear is that you are signing up for a trial and that you will be charged after a time period ends. This is the same principle seen in Netflix, you can do a one month trial but after that point your card will automatically be charged. It makes it easier for the company because a) they get more money from people who just keep forgetting and b) it can be treated as a subscription from the start and it won't cause any issues within their systems.

I´ve never used AoA and I guess I never will. I learn everything from trial-and-error, that´s the most fun.

Best regards, Steffen

this above, I can only assume some of the posters are youngsters as this is a valid business practice used throughout the world (In todays world would be difficult NOT to come across it!). A simple business practice wherein the emphasis/Power is on the customer to control there actions.

I think AoA got it wrong here.

What they should have done was to provide the first video for free.  That would be an appetizer to anyone who was keen on it so they could say "hey this is great" and decide to pay for the complete course.

I'm not in any way a "youngster", but if a business practice like this was pulled out where I live, they would be out of business very shortly. Simply here and fortunately in many other countries around the people do not let rich people mess with their lives. Not to mention dodgy contracts and overprices services.

I have come across foreign business practices as the above, and simply walked out as I know it's either a scam, bad quality or simply not any real value for your money as this is a sign of not being confident enough with your product or service.

Yes, but the credit card example is quite obvious, and in products like NetFlix, you KNOW what are getting.

When it comes to AOA, they don't even provide sample videos  so your buying into blindness
