Just downloaded the full release 10.30...still a champ....

Featured Replies

I just took a flight after downloading the full release from my last Beta that I had.

I have not flown XPX for some time, as I have been mostly taken with P3D of late.

What did I find, once rotating in my beloved SkyMaster C337?............

.....that there is not a sim on the planet at this time, that can deliver up absolutely STUTTER-FREE (OF ANY KIND...MICRO OR GROSS CHUNK)  then XPX.30  You can even load it up to the hilt (as I have) with 3rdP offerings, pay and freeware...and STILL, you are in true real-world, animation.  The next time, someone despairs, with their present system...all in.....flying P3D v2.3, or FSX (DX9 or 10), because of anything LESS than perfect animation depiction----------------------------> they only have to see what XPX.30 can bring to the plate..and understand, that it most likely is NOT their system...that can NOT offer to the eye, absolutely stutter-free flight simulation animation....it is only the flight simulator coding, that you are running with.  XPX.30 (full release) is the coding you want to fly with...if zero stutter...deadly smooth flight animation, non-delay of control surface interaction---and visual output, is the most high on your list as a flight simulation user.  If this is so...you need to purchase XPX.30.  You will get what you pay for...and expect to see.

My flight today in Alaska...loaded up with 3rdP...ground, sky, what-have-you,....was simply (at all -out settings...ground, sky, water)  SUPERB!

Not one bump, grind, burp, stutter, lame-dog, yawn, ...out of this simulator. It stayed at my locked 30 FPS...and kept no less than 2 FPS below that figure, if at all.  SUPERB!

I am so happy to have it on my hard drive....

What I stated, was not a 'diss' of any other flight platform.  I fly EVERYTHING.....and enjoy the each of them.  They all have strengths.  One of the most prominent ones of XPX.30, is its dead smoothness of animation. If you can get around 30 FPS out of XPX.30...you are guaranteed this......

You and I...by having this on our hard drives..have the best experience in this regard...

Cheers, and happy flights!

Agreed as well.  I also fly everything, but mainly focus on X Plane and DCS World now. I  just hope more payware developers like Flight Beam and FSDT get involved with X-Plane and create some good quality US airports.  Seems like Aerosoft mainly focuses on Europe which is understandable being as they are a German company.

I get 40 fps smooth FSX with i5 2500k @4.8GHz and GTX780 with FTX GLobal LC Europe. And without Nvidia G-sync.  Just need to lower monitor refesh rate in Nvidia display utility, and start DXtory.

Haven't tried yet XP.30, but must do it very soon :)

I really like how you can fine tune the depth of the cloud terrain shadows, as I have done here to my test during my flight...

Very nice feature of SkyMax Pro.  You can go much, much darker, or if you prefer, even lighter then I have here...totally in your control...very nice!

Know what you mean, now and then I reinstall P3D just for the hell of it, spend a while there, but always gravitate back to XP10. Like you say it's just so darn smooth. Glad you like SMP v2, try the latest Real Terra Haze also Mitch, I wouldn't fly without it.

Agreed and everything is installed in one directory only. No messing with files in obscure places. Its all in the main XP directory. Plus if you close the program it exits instantly. No more endless tweaking and fiddeling. I have it for a month now and it takes some getting used to but I have deleted FSX. (need space for 1.5 TB awesome free Photoscenery)

Nowhere close to FSX,if you fly airliners into major airports.

Good job then there is a lot more to flight simming than flying airliners into major airports  :P

Only because the FSX add-on market is more mature; no-one can deny that, but that's not a reason to dismiss X-Plane. I do 95% of my flying in heavy iron, and I try to do it online where my spare time allows it. Okay it can sometimes be a bit of a challenge taxiing at busy airports with ATC instructions but no more so than if I tried to do it using FSX default airports. There is definitely less choice of quality planes but there are some very good ones nonetheless.

Just curious.  Have there been any improvements to autogen?

Depends when you last tried it Mike. As you know progress in X-Plane can seem a tad slow (stars are born and die between major updates), but the autogen has definitely improved over the last couple of years. Okay probably far from perfect, but good enough for me to the point where I have stopped worrying about it.

PS if you fly in Europe the Europe Library definitely helps to give the autogen that "euro" feel:
