September 10, 201411 yr Commercial Member Depends when you last tried it Mike. Last time I tried it was 10.25 which came out so long ago now. Goodness, I think it has been over a year since that version was released. Hopefully LM can pick up the pace on releases, but not holding my breath. Anyway, any autogen changes since 10.25? Hopefully so. REX AccuSeason Developer REX Simulations
September 10, 201411 yr Indeed, having re-installed XP10 after many months away fro m it, and using SkyMaxx Pro v2, I was amazed at the incredible performance I am getting. Running sometimes at 120+ fps!!!! Never had this before, and with PSX sharing the CPU and graphics card! Whow! September 10, 201411 yr Dave, hello...can you bring me up to speed on this? Thanks... OK first of all you need the latest FlyWithLua plug-in (v2.3.1.1 I think) if you don't already have it : http://forums.x-plane.org/index.php?app=downloads&showfile=17468 Just drop that into the X-Plane 10\Resources\Plugins folder, then remove all the crap in the FlyWithLua\Scripts folder. Now download RealTerraHaze 3.0RC2 here : http://forums.x-plane.org/index.php?app=downloads&showfile=22387 Now drop the RTH_3.0RC2.lua file into the aforementioned FlyWithLua\Scripts folder. There is a manual included with the zip. It looks great even without any adjustments, but you can play to your heart's content. Give it a try! If you don't like it just scrub the FlyWithLua folder.
September 10, 201411 yr Is it compatible with SkyMaxx Pro v2? September 10, 201411 yr Is it compatible with SkyMaxx Pro v2? Absolutely, they do two different things.
September 10, 201411 yr With SkyMaxx, OSM and World2XPlane it is graphically also the best sim at least in areas with good OSM coverage, I think! Sascha Rieger | EVO Developer What is EVO • How to get Evo 2016 • FS9 Evolution Forum
September 10, 201411 yr Ok, will give RealTerraHaze a try! Thx! September 10, 201411 yr I used to use it, and was happy with it, but (and I'm not entirely sure why) it started looking to me to be more and more unrealistic, so for now, I've uninstalled it. It may be in part to my increasing consumption of real cockpit videos on YouTube and unconsciously tuning into what looks real from certain altitudes. I'm not a real pilot so frankly I have no idea of what looks real or not (first hand experience) YMMV.
September 10, 201411 yr Commercial Member It looks great even without any adjustments, but you can play to your heart's content. In the description of Real Terra Haze they say that SkyMaxx' cloud shadows don't work with RTH: If you have installed Sky Maxx Pro, the shadows of the clouds will not be displayed. Is this still true? Mario Donick .:. vFlyteAir
September 10, 201411 yr In the description of Real Terra Haze they say that SkyMaxx' cloud shadows don't work with RTH: Is this still true? Not sure for cloud shadows, I haven't noticed but give it a try. The good thing is you can adjust it to how you want effect-wise.
September 10, 201411 yr I would have to say that I have seen some incredible XPX videos and screen shoots. The best I have seen are more realistic looking than P3D or FSX. Having said that thought I have seen incredibly realistic FS9 Screen shoots too (don't recall any videos though) Granted if you have the expertise and the time it appears that you can make XPX an incredible looking sim. However, I neither have the time or the expertise and to do the same with FSX of Prepar3D it is easy. Granted there is some expertise there just from years of dealing with. Now if one of those experts who have done amazing thing with XPX where to write a comprehensive guide to achieving top shelf results, I would give it whirl but I do not have the time to educate myself through research. LOL And the big problem for XPX getting a big following is that the UI is very complex and unintuitive and vanilla it looks horrible. Prepar3D looks very good out of the box and is easy to use. Having said that I will install it again after my system overhaul in the fall. That's when FSX goes by-by..... Oh and PMDG
September 10, 201411 yr To clear things we have our own cloud shadows in smp v2 which will work in conjunction with rth.....
September 10, 201411 yr To clear things we have our own cloud shadows in smp v2 which will work in conjunction with rth..... Thanks for jumping in there John. I must admit SMPv2 seemed to work fine with RTH but since it was brought up I will double check the shadows tonight.
September 10, 201411 yr Yes, RTH doesn't touch SMP's cloud shadows and works just fine with it. i910900k, RTX 3090, 32GB DDR4 RAM, AW3423DW, Ruddy girt big mug of Yorkshire Tea
