Probe Heat

Featured Replies

I continue to lose my airspeed in icing conditions at altitude. I noticed that when I select the Probe Heat switch the light illuminates but there's no additional draw on the ammeters. If I then use the key command Shift + H, the probe heat light remains illuminated but I then get an additional draw on the ammeters. If I then turn the probe heat switch off, the light goes out and the draw on the ammeters is reduced.

In other words, the probe heat switch will not turn the probe heat on (only illuminates the light) but it will turn it off if I use the key command to turn it on. Anyone else having this issue or is it a problem on my end?

The post by Benneton describes a change to the aircraft.cfg entry.

I saw that post, it corrects current flow but that's not my problem. My probe heat won't turn on with the switch. Only using Shift + H turns it on.

Yes, it's a very basic simple panel. The issue is why activating the switch won't have the desired result. When you turn on the probe heat switch do you see an increase in amperage draw?

It is a bug.

Add this to the Gauge_Update.xml file  (in the GaugePC12 folder):

Search for "_INITA" and insert the highlighted line before it:

(A:PITOT HEAT, bool)   (L:ASD_BTN_PC12_PROBES,number)  !=  if{ (>K:PITOT_HEAT_TOGGLE) }

(L:GAUGE_UPDATE_INITA) 0 == if{  etc...

Thanks Gregg. Wouldn't be enjoying this without all the work Bert has put into it.
