PRO-ATC/X version 1.4 is out

Yes i'm the same person, but even after a second email to the address given, I've still had no reply.  Of course I have to try whatever gets released - it's a program i've paid for.

So for now, very little has changed for me, both in terms of support and product functionality.

Well, that's par for the course.  I see nothing much has changed....  I just posted on the ProATC forum that I STILL have had no reply, and it was immediately deleted. I rest my case!

Are you sure it was deleted and not just held for approval. I've noticed my posts (I don't have many) always get's held for approval by the administrator but it's usually there within one half hour. My latest one was a problem I was having with SID's at KMCO, was acknowledged as a reproducible  problem.and sent on to the developer.

Thanks

I just checked the forum's admin log and no posts have been deleted in the last 8 days (and even the last one was deleted because of double post). Also no posts could be found in the acceptance queue.

What makes you think that the post was deleted?

Can't help feeling more than a little skeptical about that.  Maybe my post eloped with my three emails;-)  If you have ANY suggestions how else I might get some support I'd be most grateful.  I've posted on the ProATC forum, posted here now, and also sent the suggested email to BOTH addresses.

I did EXACTLY as requested on the forum, but with no response.

I updated through the application as well and upon first start, I got some error messages concerning the voices. I have to install new voicepacks as well, right? And, will the updated version work, or do I have to download and install the complete package again?

And one more (it's been over 1 1/2 year since I used Pro ATC/X the last time): how do I update the AIRAC cycle again?

I'd like to give the new version a try, in 1.3 a realistic flight with ATC support wasn't able for me...

Thanks in advance!

PM me your Skype info and I let's see what we can do. Sounds OK?

That's an interesting idea.  I have a Skype account but have no idea whatsoever how to use it.  Nor do I have a microphone.  Could probably get one tmrw.  What time zone are you in Jarkko?

Would also be happy for you to 'puruse' my machines with something like TeamViewer.  I use that to help family members so know it works ok.

I'm UK so on GMT.  You around over the weekend?

Hi Phil, what's your problem?

Hi Mike

Running ProATC over a network.  Everything checks out ok on the network and ProATC connects to FSX without issue, but I never get a response when seeking clearance.  I gather its not an uncommon problem.

Windows 10 (x64) - X-Plane 11 - M/B: Asus ROG Maximus IX Hero - CPU: i7 7700k (@5.0GHz) - RAM: 32Gb Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 @ 3200MHz - Video: GTX1080ti - Cooling: Custom water loop (EK 140 Revo D5 pump/res combo, EK EVO CPU block, EK XE360 Rad)

I will send an PM today with more info.

This happens, when the auto update has failed. The fix that has solved most of the problems is by downloading the 1.4.0.0 fix file from here:

http://www.pointsoftware.de/proatcx_e/download.html

(proatcx-update-1400_rx.zip)

If you could try to download it just once more, then take everything inside the zip file and copy them over the old files in the ProATC root directory.

---

Now if this doesn't cure the problem, make you are on the clearance frequency when requesting clearance. When you select "Fly Now", ProATC will automatically tune the ATIS as the active frequency and the clearance as standby frequency.

If this doesn't, can you please run the first checklist? After running the first checklist, the co-pilot will attempt to switch to the clearance frequency.

---

If still no luck, then let's try to debug this remotely. As mentioned, I will send you a PM later today.

Hi Phil, unfortunatly I don't use my network for PATC. I have to say though that all my flights are near perfect with the new build.

Thanks.  Have done that a couple of times, but will do it again.

Ah.... PM just received from Jarkko, so will take this 'off air' with him now things are hopefully rolling;-)

Apologies if I seemed a little OTT, but this has been very frustrating.  Hopefully now moving towards a resolusion.

Dougal run the checklist even if you are already on the clearance frequency. On my system I get the clearance, but unless I run the cockpit prep checklist I can't respond to it, even if tuned in. Once I run the checklist PATC responds normally.

Thanks

May have had some initial communication issues, but once full comms were established with developer and help from Jarkka, they were quick and helpful to get me running;-)

Haven't run through a complete flight yet, but thought it only fair to report back here.

Thanks Phil. Hope you get it to working properly. I've had successes and failures (mostly caused by me). With any complicated addon, it takes some time to figure it out.
