Sorry I didnt reply straight away but I went out for the day with my family and then when I got home I went to sleep (Yeah I like in Australia) so that makes me a troll?

 

Anyway after re-installing the program again to no effect I installed it at its default C Drive location and it now works.

Glad you got it fixed. Amazing how suddenly you are not hearing ATC saying negative, negative, negative! Having beta tested this product a year or so ago several times, I don't think I have ever heard the word negative, especially from ATC. I continued to use ProATC-X a lot waiting for the latest update and really had no problems (I don't care whether the program listens to other AI or not). So I still consider your earlier comments suspicious but removed your topic ban to give you the benefit of doubt.

Yes there is when you ask for clearance and they reply Negative. Anyway as I mentioned below by installing to the default C drive it fixed the issue.

I have been using this product since day one and have not heard it. My co-pilot requests clearance though. Maybe that's the difference. Not going to say the word is not there, I just have never heard clearance say "negative" when asking for clearance.

I am neither a PATC booster or hater. The new release is a considerable step forward. I believe there is post on the PATC forum by Clive (alpha117) outlining the fixes and improvements. There are still issues with the software. I won't discuss them here. They have a forum for that. I am glad that Jim Young, who is familiar with the program, is keeping an eye on us here.

 

Perhaps the main thing to consider is that the program is once again under development. There was a long period of uncertainty surrounding the software and a lot of people got turned off. It got a bit ugly, but there is a positive atmosphere once again. Time will tell if this is a one off, or the beginning of a series of improvements which will achieve the full promise of the addon.

 

Perhaps Jim, who is neutral here, can speak to this. I can only believe that writing an ATC program is, along with AI, not an exercise for the timid. Otherwise, there might be a whole lot of ATC and AI programs under active development. If it were easy, I suspect we would have had a program by now, that would have turned the various ATC authorities world wide, green with envy. I am not sticking up for the author. I wouldn't know him if I tripped over him. I am his customer.

 

Anyway, I am happier with this version of the software, than I was with the previous one.

Well now I have it working I am really enjoying it. Yes I wish my PFPX flightplan would import in to it but I can have everything I guess.

All I have said on the subject is, that this wasn't major enough problem to hold back and already delayed release. As far as I know, the fix for this is at the top of the fix list (right after not getting a landing clearance, which in turn is a major bug).

I wish my PFPX flightplan would import in to it but I can have everything I guess.

 

I just went thought the official forum and saw nothing like this mentioned. Might have missed it though.

 

I personally import my routes either from PFPX, FlightAware or eurofpl.eu and haven't had more that one or two routes rejected by ProATC.

 

Just make sure to include the origin and destination airport codes to the route you are importing from PFPX and you should be good to go. If not, please report on the official forum.

Actually I got a negative response today when I requested a different SID

Just a quick tip, at the moment in PATC, if the wind changes and you have already asked for clearence ATC will not change the runway it has already given you, even though you can hear the controller tasking the other aircraft with (the now) correct one. To avoid this until it is fixed (and it will be) don't ask for clearence until about 10 minutes or less before you are ready to depart and make sure you have the box ticked that aligns AI and you to wind direction.

 

Edit: I only ever use ASN or Opus in live mode, so if you fly with the whether set to a specific time and date it should not affect you.

Do not think this is what the razalom was doing. I'm out the door for the golf course so don't have time to test right now. Very strange a program would not allow a change in SID if it was listed in the options for change. In any case, he got his problem fixed by reinstalling. Let's move on.

Were you still on the correct channel for Clearance?

 

If the option for the co-pilot to handle comms is enabled then once he has readback the channel will switch to Ground. You will need to swap back to Clearance for any request to change departure.

So next step was straight to the forum...no forum just a error page!

 

So next to avsim forum...found this thread and the first step, i see is the problem with the sound, great that's my problem. but the solution is to download the new sound set from the forum! Which i cant do because its down!

 

Please help guys, i want to be able to have a flight tonight, any help?
