Can I get weather from ASN in ProATCX?

Yes you can. The settings are under Options > Folders. I think there should be a mention in the manual.

There is only an option for AS2012

Is this the same?

The settings are not under Options/folders but under Options/Weather

You need to browse and point to the ASN weather.snapshot file in ASN.

found it under appdata/roaming/hifi

Good point! ProATC supports both ASN and AS2012.

Under Options > Folders, you should tell ProACT where your ASN weather export is located (by setting the AS2012 folder, thank you for pointing this out)

After that, you you can go to Options > Weather and choose ASN (AS2012) as your weather source.

During beta, I flew with both ASN and FSGRW and both worked fine.

EDIT: I didn't notice that the issue was already solved. I should have checked before answering to the mail I got :) Thank you Jim!

You could be correct on that one :) I was answering only based on memory. I'm currently away from my FSX rig, so I won't be able to check the correct place until Monday.

C:\Users\flight-sim\AppData\Roaming\Hifi\ASNP3D\Weather  this is the string for asn in my computer. change" flight-sim" name for your computer name

Hi peppy

Open Pro ATC and press the Options button at the top. There will be a button at the top of options, that says Weather. Press that. You will see a check box that says Read AS2012 Weather. Check that box. to the right, there will be a button with a folder on it. Press that button and navigate to the location of the weather snapshot file. Usual location is:

C:\users\<your name>\appdata\roaming\hifi\asnp3d\

I use P3D. You may use FSX. If so, the folder inside hifi will be different than mine. Select the folder inside the hifi folder. After you are back in the options window, press the save button at the bottom. Your changes will be saved and PATC will read your ASN weather.

Regards,

Graham Derreck

Maybe unrelated ...but when I make a new flight plan in which the departure airport does not have a SID in data, it will not complete the plan

Any round about?

Is there an alternative download location for this as I am getting like 15-20KB/s :(

Even at that speed I have had 2 failed download attempts :(

try the auto update under help/check for updates

Hard to click an update button when you don't have the program downloaded.

Anyway 4 hours to download and it's installed and the atc won't give me clearance. Just keeps saying negative. Using pmdg 777 and so frustrated.

On the official forum, I have requested for a log file. Something isn't right with the installation, because this might the first case ever, where clearance responds with "negative". On the official forum, I forgot to ask one more thing. Did this also happen on the tutorial flights?

Just keeps saying negative.

I think that's your voice you are hearing in the background. What's up with your post? The moderators at ProATC are trying to help you out and you come over here and complain about the same thing? You don't like the help you are getting there? I have banned you from making any further comments in this topic. I think you are just trolling.
