Whats entertaining you until the PMDG releases?

Recommended Posts

Hi folks

I myself am looking forward to the P3D release of the 777, but all in good time. No doubt I will also get the 744 when its released (i can kid myself that I wont need it alongside the 777, but lets be realistic here..... :P )

Anyway, i thought a nice way to break the angst amongst the impatient people might be to concentrate on what we will be doing with our sims until the day of release. Now is ther perfect time to learn something new about our simming - glass half full and all that!

Personally, I have bought the C182 from A2A and am very much enjoying learning variable pitch prop flying. Once Ultimate Terrain X is out for P3D (any day now), I will probably plan and embark on a cross-USA flight, learning more about the C182 as I go. I was going to take the Cherokee but the C182's superor speed and higher workload may just swing it for me.....

What about you guys and gals? Got any little projects on the go?

Cheers,

Rob

I just bought the A2A C182 Skylane as well. So far I'm really enjoying it. I'm planning to fly the perimeter of the United States instead of just straight across the country.

Good idea - using sectionals? Do you have a planner? Im using the downloadable FAA sectionals for mine. They work quite well.

Uhm, I still enjoy the heck out of the NGX and the 777. I also got the 182 and really like it a lot more than the 172 or the Cherokee since it has more horsepower and a better overall performance.

Uhm...be nice to my 172! It's not fast, but it'll take you some cool places...  :P

(I actually used the A2A paintkit to put this exact plane into the sim :Nerd: )

No offense to the 172, I had my first real stick time in one but in FSX GA on its own is quite boring compared to some faster stuff like the P-51 with all the IFR equipment or a 777. :D

Can't say I'm a big fan of the Skylane... The Cherokee, though! I don't know why, but I just like it that much better!

Still not bored of the 777, though.

I have finished optimizing my system to run at 5ghz and I have found that the Captain Sim 727 seems to handle very nicely in P3D V2.4. All the gauges seem to work.

Right now I am just getting setup to fly her from KIAD (FlightBeam) To KJFK (FSDreamTeam)

The A2A Cherrytree is great, more fun than the 172. I'm not sure that I need a third piston single, unless they make a Beagle Pup which I would buy in an instant.

However I'm not impatiently waiting for anything from PMDG. The 747v2 will be great but I still enjoy flying the existing 747X. The 777 is still my PMDG sim of choice.

I too love that plane. Since making the jump to P3D, I have not reinstalled FSX and am avoiding the urge to do so. Hence my procrastinating with the C182!

Why not reinstall it? I still have FS9 installed for a few planes that I can't use in FSX. The PSS 757 for example. At worst you lose some disk space. I don't see the sense in denying yourself the 777 unnecessarily.

The 777... I still get excited to fly it, every time!  ^_^

Took a two month break as I got too busy but back at it at least once or twice a week now. I loooooooooooooooooooove it just as much as when I got the first beta. Still can't see myself flying anything else.

I 'play' a legacy 'game', still known to the long-term AVSIM members as FSX. Updated with SP1 and SP2 it even offers PMDG compatibility. Must say, it's been very 'entertaining' so far ...   :P

I enjoy the  PMDG 777 (all models) and the new buses from Aerosoft.

Best.

I love it at least that much. I took time to do a rebuild upgrade from Core 2 to i7 and Vista to Win 7, and now waiting for next month to get P3D. Meanwhile, my UAL B77L is at VHHH Gate E-15 having arrived last night from KORD on the UAL895 trip and will return her soon to KORD (UAL896). Coming over, I watched a sun rise over Siberia and then sun set over China, magnificent.

I fly almost everything from the mighty MD-11 till 737 by Pmdg and enjoy it all across europe. And since I've

got ASN it's even more fun and realistic tough! I love the trips with my 777-300 from OMDB to EDDM and back!

The interconnection between ASN and the tripple is tremendously cool! Good job PmdG! :t1851:

Cheers Sven

Still struggling with the PMDG FCOMS -_-

So PMDG can take it's time. The queen of the skies V2 is on my agenda.

And i wonder what they will release on the X-Plane version.

Still thoroughly enjoying (and learning) the 777 and undoubtedly will be for the next several years.  When I don't have the time or want to fly something else there's always the Q400, Piston Duke 2.0 and the Skymaster.

I've purchased the Airbus 318/319 but haven't had the time to dive into it yet.

Waiting for the Milviz 350i official release (but even as 'alpha' it's really nice) and RealAir's Turbo Duke 2.0.

The Q400 Pro Edition would also be an immediate buy.

That's exactly what I did, and in fact did take the time to dive into it.     It's a fantastic addon, and I highly recommend that if you've wanted to fly the bus, this is the one to fly.

The only thing is that now that I've learned to fly it and understand the Airbus (vs Boeing) logic, it's almost too easy to fly.  I know they intended to build it that way, and of course the 777 with all its automation is also easy to fly (all relative of course), so I'm diving a bit deeper into it while I wait for the 747 v2.

I'm taking her on a European tour right now to get used to her, plus get used to all the crazy airways and stuff in EUR airspace...that in itself is enough to keep me busy for a while, hehe.

No, no, NOOOOOOOOO!!!!   FSX-ism coming through here, not STICK time, Cessna's have YOKES  :LMAO:  :Peace:

to answer the OP's question - well heck, the OTHER PMDG stuff of course!   On a serious note, I also enjoy a bit of GA from time to time, diving into the King Air offerings ad sometimes a bit of military flying the old school fighters (the Sabre is one of my favourites!)

Kind regards

Good to hear you got it all up and running well! I'm about to ponder across the Atlantic this fine Friday afternoon/evening to ORD at BA297... don't I know how to live on a Friday??

Coincidence Luke, I have UAL 959 EGLL-KORD in the air right now. Sure, the real thing is a B763 but what's wrong with a little imagination.
