January 7, 201511 yr Looking for a old school prop- liner to use in P3d. Considering JustFlight's Connie or DC-6B to be used with FSEconomy. I have the A2A Stratocruiser but it's not working in P3dV2.4. I'm using the Flight Replica's DH-114 Heron and like it but I'm looking for something a bit larger and faster. I want a good VC with at least fairly accurate systems modeling and great sounds or aftermarket sounds available. I know PMDG has a DC-6 coming but it might be awhile before it's available for P3d. Your suggestions recommendations wanted....thanks in advance. RE Thomason Jr.

January 7, 201511 yr Isn't the JF Connie included already in P3D; I have it. Also, the default FSX DC-3 works - Rick Rick Abshier 5900X | RTX 5070 Ti OC| 64 GB@3600 | India Pale Ale
January 7, 201511 yr Author Isn't the JF Connie included already in P3D; Yes, your right thanks! I've been so indifferent to default planes I simply forgot this was the case and I'm going to give it a look but I heard their DC6 was a better release I think it was done by Aircraft Factory and JF was just the distributor. One thing for certain PMDG fans will rejoice if I buy the JF version because with my luck surely the day after I purchase it the PMDG DC-6 would be released. In Alaska I fly the C47-v2 (Simouthouse) in P3D v2.4 That looks outstanding how's the VC if it looks as good as the exterior I'm in! Is Razbam's Metroliner too modern? I have it already and use it quite a bit. RE Thomason Jr.
January 7, 201511 yr :"That looks outstanding how's the VC if it looks as good as the exterior I'm in!" The VC was redone ... and it look really good. Real soundset also. Free at Simouthouse ..! Get an quick look: Best Regards, Vaughan Martell PP-ASEL KDTW

January 7, 201511 yr Try this: http://www.sim-outhouse.com/sohforums/showthread.php?83101-FSX-Douglas-C-47-V2-zip I installed it into FSX then moved (copied files) it to P3D v2.4 and it works great. Best Regards, Vaughan Martell PP-ASEL KDTW

January 7, 201511 yr deletedGreat suggestion but the OP said it's not working for him in P3D 2.4. To the OP - the 377 works for me in P3D with no issues. Have you tried installing using the Estonian Migration Tool? I have to do that with A2A aircraft though others do OK with manual install, not sure why. FYI that to set up the 377 you need only the base package and Captain of the Ship, which includes Accu-Sim. The separate Accu-Sim package is for an older version Finally, I can second the recommendation for the freeware C-47 - it's wonderful. EDIT: @corkyo - sorry, was posting while you deleted. But I agree the Strat is a great choice if the OP can get it working. @vonmar - Jan Visser has a new VC in the works for the C-47 but it's not out yet, hopefully soon. There are pictures in a long thread on Sim Outhouse. The current one is OK though modern. The new one looks like it'll be stunning. Alan Ampolsk"Ah, Paula, they are firing at me!"-- Saint-Exupery
January 7, 201511 yr Author Yes I tried re-dowloading the Strat and everything seems to be working find but I have no engine sounds? The other sounds are there Greeting by the crew. "oil pressure rising" on engine start but no engine sounds which is really weird. Going to see if they have any suggestions at the A2A site. RE Thomason Jr.
January 7, 201511 yr The Simouthouse DC-3/C-47 is excellent. The VC is semi-modern but there are 2 guys working on a vintage VC. It's excellent freeware like this and the generosity of their designers that still blows me away! FaxCap
January 7, 201511 yr For anyone who wants to try the freeware C-47 - make sure that in addition to the main download, you also download the separate soundpack by Ted (TuFun) Wolfgang. It's fantastic - payware quality, just like the aircraft itself. IIRC, Manfred Jahn, the main developer, has said that when Jan is finished with the new VC, he may create a version 3 download package that includes the aircraft, the TuFun soundset and the texture basepack, which as of now are three separate downloads. If he does, it'll make life easier, though for now the three downloads are easy enough to work with. And the price is (astonishingly) right!
