Airport scenery on par with FlyTampa, Simflyers, etc.

Featured Replies

I just got into add-on airport scenery and really can't go back to the dull looking default airports. I've tried a few freeware airports, but only the Canarysim's really caught my WOW factor. Anyway, can somebody recommend detailed scenery? If not freeware, then a quality payware version. I've heard mixed reviews on imaginesims but if no other recomendations are given I'll pick up their KMSY.I fly mainly in the US but am looking for some great Asian airports mainly in Japan. Jan Martins are nice but I'd like some cars, more buildings, etc. More "feel"Thanks,

Shehryar Ansari is a great designer who totally recreates airports. Anything else like that around?

For Japan check out Overland http://overland.co.jp/sms/airport2.htmlIt's payware though. For good Freeware Japanese airports look at http://flightinfo.ens.ne.jp/sfs/ (Very good)There is also Incheon Airport (Korea) on avsim. Search "Winged City"Hope this helps

George Grimshaw's Boston is fantastic, so much so that he's now working for Fly Tampa. It's a shame that the majority of the best produced sceneries are now payware, but perhaps that's the way things have gone, and there's no point being sentimental for the days of FS98!Rob

I live in New Orleans, La and purchased the above KMSY airport the other day. It looks GREAT and I'm Very, very happy , that after about 6 years someone has made a great, detailed airport Of New Orlean's, KMSY. I'm waiting on their other airports. Jerrycwo4

Jerrycwo4... and I'm patiently waiting for some quality work on the Washington DC area. Can't imagine why the entire area hasn't been done by one of the commercial firms. The Dulles (IAD) and Reagan (DCA) airports, historic buildings, etc., would seem to me to be ample reason to do them.Perhaps the flight restrictions in the Capitol area are the cause. But I flew right over the White House and the Capitol yesterday and didn't get shot down!:-) :-)

try http://www.flightscenery.com/flightzone01/specifications.htm they have a whole Rhode Island scenery including several airports, of which PVD is so detailed and so well made there is no FPS hit whatsoever, this is the new standard in scenery design!

Isd looks fantastic. How does their version of Rome compare to Simflyers? I just purchased World Airports 1 and 2 but will ditch their Rome for this one if it is on the same level. Thanks everyone for the replies, PVD looks great but I rarely fly in that area for me to spend 50 dollars on it for now.

Thanks for the overland link. Are these the same people who came out with the freeware MD-11? I looked at their website and the Japanese Airport pack looks awesome, but can't find the link to buy it... Can you help?

They already made Venice and Budapest with the cities areas and Lago/Cloud9 has made Rome with the city area.

Pardon me for plugging in my small creation here, but my DCA for FS2002 works fine in FS2004. It is complex so I would recommend if you do not have a decent comp , check the readme for instructions to remove sundry objects like the car drive ramp ,etc.RegardsShez
