June 3, 200521 yr Well, I have to say the Dreamfleet Bonanza looks awesome indeed...! I didn't know they had a new aircraft!I wanted an easier, simple aircraft than the PMDG 373 for simple, short flights, but this one, with all those extra gauges looks cool...! Those things are worth the money on their own! I think maybe a simple Cessna (even the Fligh1 one) may bore me too soon... The Dreamfleet Bonanza has a thick manual too, which I quit love, so... And it it's quit new, which usually means better in FS-addon-land! ;) Besides, I don't HAVE to use all that stuff, so if I want an easy short flight, I still can do it with the DF Bonanza. I think this is the one I'm getting...!Thanks for all the tips! One last thing... Is it a big fps-eater...? If I can fly the PMDG well enough, will this one fly pretty nicely too? It seems quit a 'heavy' plane, with all those beatifull gauges...
June 3, 200521 yr Flight 1 Piper Meridian. It's all you need!Best RegardsBoone,[email protected]"Flying a plane is no different from riding a bicycle. It's just a lot harder to put baseball cards in the spokes."
June 3, 200521 yr Not only does Flight 1 offer a range of top quality GA aircraft, as already mentioned in this thread, but they also offer a 30 day money back guarantee, so you can get a refund if you are not satisfied. Pretty hard to beat IMO.Gary 9800X3D | 4090 | 64GB | 2+1TB NVME | 2TB SSD | 2TB HDD | 85/50/43” TVs | Quest 3 | DOF H3 Motion Rig | Buttkicker | T.16000M Flight Kit MSFS @ 4K Ultra DLSS Performance FG 80 FPS | VR VDXR Godlike 80Hz SSW | MSFS VR DLSS Quality, Ultra Preset - Windows 11 Acer Nitro 5 | i5-11400H | RTX 3060 6 GB | 32GB DDR4 | 15.6" FHD IPS 144Hz | 2 x 512 GB SSD | Windows 11
June 3, 200521 yr Really? How does that work? Do yo get a license key for 30 days or something like that...? Sounds interesting: the DF Bonanza is sold there, so...
June 3, 200521 yr I do not know if it is awesome, kick-####, cool, or way cool but the cheapest top level flight model is the FREE Cessna 172 on the RealAir web site. The most important thing about flight simulation is flight dynamics and Rob Young is one of the best at it. If you do not want doors that open and close and rivets with proper shadowing this is a very good "standard aircraft". Skip the eye-candy and really test your skills by FLYING. If you are not a real pilot you can be easily deluded by choosing an aircraft with no proper pedigree. Now all you have is a scenery viewer.Dick Boley regards, Dick near Pittsburgh, USA
June 3, 200521 yr I agree wholeheartedly with Dick. This is a flight simulator and the most important aspect of an aircraft should be how it simulates flight. In this, Rob Young's flight models are incomparable, and the free flight model for the default Cessna is astounding. Finally, an airplane that feels and flies like the real thing, and Rob gives the flight model away for nothing. Many thanks to him for all the work he has done on it.Best regards.LuisOh Rob, it would be wonderful to be able to fly Yannick's Falcon in this version of Flight Simulator. Hot, humid Caribbean paradise!
June 3, 200521 yr Not quite. The products that use the Flight One "wrapper" system are sold on a "sale or return" basis. You download the "wrapper" file, purchase it online, and, if you're unhappy with the results, you can apply for a refund. To my knowledge, Flight One/Dreamfleet/RealityXP don't have to issue many refunds .....Alastair
June 3, 200521 yr >I agree wholeheartedly with Dick. This is a flight simulator>and the most important aspect of an aircraft should be how it>simulates flight.>It's the "most" important, but with me, "eye candy" is a close second. This is all an illusion, and something we're not forced to do. In order to make the illusion complete, I like to see lot's of detail in the exteriors, especially with airplanes from the 30's to 50's that have a lot of nostalgic value for me. Examples are the B-25 & Connie. Just love cranking up the engines and watching the smoke and exhaust stack flames in addition turning up the sound.L.Adamson
June 3, 200521 yr Now imagine having a flight model even better than the free RA C172 combined with a VC that has guage updates as smooth as any 2D panel (and if thats just "eye candy" to you than we'll have to agree to disagree), plus is superb for everything from aerobatics to cross country VFR, plus the wonderful eye candy commonly found in good payware. I say again, RealAir SF260... :)I want great flight modelling but I want great visuals too. I want it all... :)
June 3, 200521 yr I lock at 27 with My cloud settings between High and Ultra High and my Scenery nearly maxed. Autogen is pulled back 1 notch and i run at 1280x1024 with 2xAA and 8xAF. So not to hard on my frames. I lock at my chosen 27FPS. :) Chase Barnett
June 3, 200521 yr Flight1 - Piper Meridien and Dreemfleets Piper Archer. And oh yeah.. Realair's Decathlon.Masterpieces. Manny Beta tester for SIMStarter
June 3, 200521 yr "Oh Rob, it would be wonderful to be able to fly Yannick's Falcon in this version of Flight Simulator."Hi Luis,I think you CAN fly the Falcon 50 in FS9. If you do a search here at Avsim I think you might find a few posts from people who have done so, and I recall some time back being able to fly the Falcon in FS2004 also.Best Wishes,Rob Young Robert Young - retired full time developer - see my Nexus Mod Page and my GitHub Mod page
June 3, 200521 yr "Best" is a fuzzy term.. it depends so much on what kind of flying you like to do and what airplane you would "really" like to fly.Although I fully agree with the nomination of the RealAir SF-260 as best GA aircraft simulation ever, I equally enjoy getting into and flying the Dreamfleet Archer which IMHO conveys a sense of "being there" in the 2d cockpit, like no other add-on I own.Lastly, if you are looking for a "true to life" training aircraft, the Flight1 C172 is unmatched.
