February 27, 201511 yr I know there are lots of flight planners that you can find out there that will let you put in 2 airports and tell you the distance, but I can't find one that meets what I would like. It probally does not exist but is there one where I can put in my Current Airport, then the Max number of miles I want to fly and it list the airports within that radius? Pref with ILS
February 27, 201511 yr I do that sort of stuff online: gcmap.com FS Captain is a mighty utility. One of its many features is to create "spikes" around a "hub" of your choice, where you can specify route distances depending on aircraft category, for example. What happened to AVSIM
February 27, 201511 yr It probally does not exist but is there one where I can put in my Current Airport, then the Max number of miles I want to fly and it list the airports within that radius? Pref with ILS I use this program which is very good at doing exactly what you are looking for. Destination Finder for FS9 v1.1 Available here in the Library, does exactly what you want, ignore the fact that it says for FS9 it will also work with FSX/P3D as it builds it database from your installed and stock sceneries. File Description:In this program, you enter the ICAO code of your start airport, the distance you wish to fly, and the heading on which you wish to fly. The program will search through all the stock airports in FS9, and will compile a list of airports nearest to your desired destination. For extra flexibility, you can also leave the heading and/or the distance unspecified. February 27, 201511 yr Ideal Flight 10 does this and much more, try the demo. Not sure the demo has distance to airport however. The upgrade "Augmented' for sure does.
February 28, 201511 yr I also highly recommend Destination Finder. It does exactly what you want and more and it is free. However, it is NOT a flight planner. You find your destination and then use it in your flight planner. Tom
February 28, 201511 yr Not exactly distance related but more so to do with how much time you want to fly for : http://www.flighttimesmap.com/ Simply click on any point on the map where you want to begin and it will tell you how far you will get with a set number of hours.
February 28, 201511 yr I use this one - http://onlineflightplanner.org/. It creates the plan to your appropriate aircraft then creates the file formats for all of the addon aircraft you have. Simply download and install into the correct aircraft folder, import directly in the MCDU or FMC for that aircraft.
March 4, 201511 yr It probally does not exist but is there one where I can put in my Current Airport, then the Max number of miles I want to fly and it list the airports within that radius? Pref with ILS For VFR flying you can try VfrFLight and "ruler" feature. http://vfrflight.org/en/documentation.html#3_1 There are also some limited ILS functionalities, but maybe it will be enough for you. March 4, 201511 yr SimlancherX sort of does this. I can set a radius and then center that on a specific airport. It's free, and I'd really recommend it. Support forum is on here Louise London, UK
March 5, 201511 yr You can use http://www.gcmap.com/. Enter an airport code and click airport info. Scroll down to Related Locations, select Airport, enter min and max distance and heading (or any heading) and click Find. Barry Friedman
