June 10, 201510 yr Are you liking it better this time? Are the FPS good in FSX?Good flying (no FSX crashes)? So far so good. I had an issue where I couldn't get FSUIPC keyboard macros to work with it last time I installed it. This time (for some reason) it's working fine. I have about 70% of what I need mapped to my hardware. The other 30% looks like it will be tough and, in some cases, not possible. Still, I've gotten enough to fly for now while I see what I can work out. The framerates are just fine...no worse than a lot of GA airplanes I own. I had one crash but it was in G2D.dll so I suspect it had to do with my scenery which I toned down and hasn't occurred since. The FDE (which I do remember well) is just wonderful...I hand flew it around some yesterday. The systems and FMS are very in depth...very, very in depth so, in that sense, you get a real feel for managing a business jet. Be prepared that the cockpit doesn't look very good but, honestly, after a while, I don't notice it so much. Gregg Seipp "A good landing is when you can walk away from the airplane. June 10, 201510 yr Gregg, Thanks for the additional feedback ... much appreciated. "I had one crash but it was in G2D.dll so I suspect it had to do with my scenery which I toned down and hasn't occurred since." I never had a G2D.dll crash in FSX so hope it (or any other crash) does not happen again for you. Your feedback sounds very positive ... that's good. I watched a couple videos and they looked good also. Best Regards, Vaughan Martell PP-ASEL KDTW
June 12, 201510 yr A further update... I've been flying the Eaglesoft C750 for the last few days (spent a day getting it set up). Took quite a few flights, VFR and IFR. My last one was fun (KSNA.CHANL2.RZS.STOKD.SERFR.SERFR1.KSFO). Here's what I see... It's extremely complete. It has VNAV and you can use airways in your flight plan. SIDs and STARs, all day long. It has an updateable Navigraph database Framerates are extremely good. In Orbx Seattle I'm mid-30s (27 to 41) and very smooth. VAS is also very good. Flight model is among the best. Seriously. Very smooth at every action and dreamy to hand-fly and land. Flap deployment is fluid, as I'd expect in a plane like this. Graphics...well, yes, could be better (and they're working on it). Actually, when you're flying, there's only a couple of things. The airplane itself has an unusual dash and that's a piece of it that takes getting used to...can't blame Eaglesoft for that. On the outside it is damn sexy and the lighting is really, really nice! Some clickspots are difficult. Still struggling with the radio spots and the second FMC. I despise 2D panels. Hardware setup. Challenging at best. It's a very unusual setup compared to any other airplane I have, but it's doable with clickspots and a config file that maps buttons to keys to the airplane. So far I have about 70% of what I need done using only clickspots (I'm avoiding the config file.) It doesn't recognize very many standard FSX commands so those need clickspots or config file too. Some commands like Pitot Heat and Landing Lights are toggles so use On/Off switches carefully. It does recognize a few standard commands (Gear, autopilot off/on). I may be able to write some LUA to make some of it work better and, if that works, I may be able to make a LINDA module for it (not guaranteeing ANYTHING, yet, and I know I won't be able to do much with radios and nav for VRInsight.) I've had some difficulty restarting the flight. I find it better to shut down FSX and restart. Both pilots get two cupholders...each. Documentation provided is decent and there's a fair amount of info on the web about it...you might even find an AOM. All in all, if you like to fly, this is a great plane. I like a pretty VC as much as anyone but, while waiting for the version 3.0 to come out, this is a very good airplane to practice on. Set up will be a struggle but worth it. Also, there's a lot to read and learn. I wish there was more of a community around the plane because there's a lot to it. I also hope we get some more help on the hardware side cuz wouldn't it be dreamy to some simpits of this! Gregg Seipp "A good landing is when you can walk away from the airplane. June 12, 201510 yr While I've had some pretty big disagreements with Eaglesoft, the Citiation X is a wonderful aircraft. It doesn't work ideally in Windows 8.1 but it DOES at least work. Under Windows 7 it is smooth as silk. It flies great and I love the FMS/autopilot and the gauge displays.

Is there any particular model amongst their business jets that is noted for playing nicely with windows 8? I know they don't offer any support and it has put me off buying one, but if there is one that is generally known to work well for most people most of the time I might be willing to take that chance.

I wish I could answer that but I only have the Citation X (750). Basically what seems to happen is that the sim stutters on loading what I *think* are the guages. It does it every time you resize the window as well. Sometimes it will cause a CTD but not frequently. As I said it's flyable but a bit annoying. If you don't find yourself having to resize the window it probably wouldn't be too noticeable. I only use one monitor and bounce back and forth to things like ActiveSky Next or Flightsim commander so it's more noticeable for me. I wish they'd find it in their hearts to fix it but I've fought and lost that battle too many times and made a nuisance of myself to them unfortunately.
June 14, 201510 yr Here's a very well done flight of the Citation X from KSEA to PACT by FS Mania all the way from start up to most of the shutdown and shows how to use airways in the flightplan. June 14, 201510 yr My throttles are stuck at 50% that's the lowest they can go, using the Eaglesoft X. I read I have to change fsuipc and config throttles through fsuipc for this airplane and change a line about throttles in the ini file. But I pressed shift +2 and the sim crashed with an eaglesoft panel dll error. The airplane wouldn't even uninstall it got stuck at 50% and hung.Nothing is easy in this sim.

What throttle quad are you using? I didn't have to do anything at all special with my CH throttles. Gregg Seipp "A good landing is when you can walk away from the airplane. June 14, 201510 yr Saitek but only one throttle not dual. And only setup through fsx not fsuipc. Oh...that might be the issue. I only set mine through FSUIPC for all aircraft. I actually customize the strength of the throttle input using Slope for several of them so they match the visual movement inside the sim. June 14, 201510 yr Saitek but only one throttle not dual. And only setup through fsx not fsuipc. You need to set up the throttles through FSuipc or the FADEC will not function correctly, For one throttle quad you will need to edit the ESDG_CitationX.ini [FADEC] LeftFadec=1 RightFadec=1 Throttles=2 //change this to 1 FSUIPC=1
