P3D 3.0 Speculation & General Nonsense

Recommended Posts

Just noticed something on YouTube,  Robs last couple of YouTube uploads (fantastic as always)  They don't have the usual  P3D 2.5 stamp on them.

Have a peep yourself,   Is this V3 in action ?

If you look closely you can see that in the logo, 3D at the end is a slightly lighter shade and there is a small space between 'Prepar' and '3D'as well. Definitely shows it's v3.0, without a doubt :P

I think Rob's complete silence on this is suspicious.

Next version is called Preparv3D. Abbreviated as Pv3D.

If it is 3.0. then I don't see much of an improvement in the animation of the water textures....

Imho this is v3 : better performance , smoother and no OOMs.

If all other v2 addons are still compatible then I will be very satisfied.

Btw : looks like default clouds to me from a new install ....

There is not a snowballs chance in hell that those video's are made with V3.

It definitely V2.5, No question about it :-)

Rob has a fantastic high end system and certainly has squeezed the very best out of V2.5

and that is what it is. No doubt about it. I'd bet my shirt on it! :-)

Would a version 3 beta not have a  watermark on it?

Gawd, I'm so bored with this lol

Well, since Rob is on the beta team and they are always ahead of things, it MUST be Version 4!!!

That's what I was thinking, a naked V3 canvas, would make sense.

No doubt about it. I'd bet my shirt on it! :-)

Well then I look forward to wearing your Shirt shortly:)

Quite possible jV from Orbtx was correct and it's not a massive all round change but only in certain areas

Take care of his LOD_Radius, the radius is quite larger than default setting in P3D2.5, maybe even bigger than 10. Also, think about the motivation of Rob, why he just post two videos that not show anything special, just fly around in three ordinary addon aircraft( CS727, NG, T7). He even dont say a word.

I notice a great working Anti Aliasing. Maybe it's really v3...

This was an area rarely mentioned, why ever, but certainly would benefit from improvement.

Kind regards, Michael

It's not V3! Rob is actively responding to posts on YouTube below those video's to questions about how to achieve that performance.

If it was version 3. I doubt if he would be misrepresenting those videos to his YouTube Followers. Having said that V3 will be announced before the end of this month if not released:
