ATC allows us to know which runways are operating and controls AI traffic and assigns parking - seems pretty useful.

I always wonder why addon ATC sounds so crap and robotic in comparison...

PLUS Pete is on holiday!

Hmm. Seems quite likely, as I'm away (in Madeira as it happens) all next week. Not back till October!
That leaves only 6 days till Pete is back from holidays

Just messin' with you a little there Elaine (sorry geek humour)

Yeah, its funny how we just don't see what's right in front of us sometimes. :LMAO:

This is of course true Steve, but default ATC or any 'canned' ATC  product kills the immersion for me.  I prefer real interaction or no controlling at all.  To each his own.  There is no right or wrong, but I guess I am surprised that so many people actually use it.

I am equally surprised whenever I hear of someone who enjoys flying around with default scenery and autogen. I can't stand the sight of it!

I do not, on the other hand, see any problem if someone has default scenery.

Maybe they are more into actual flying & procedures than eye candy.

We all have our different needs, immersion or realism. One is no better than the other.

Why listen or interact with ATC if you don't like it? What I am saying is it's pretty handy to know the runways in operation if you've got any AI traffic.

Agree

But getting back to more general speculation and nonsense...has it been released yet??  **taps fingers**

Hey Steve, does  the  default ATC gives you the departure runway base on winds direction ?

Yes, it takes into account direction, speed, gusts, your distance from the ramp (in the case of multiple runways in the same direction), what AI are landing and taxiing, and a few more things besides. Uses a sophisticated heuristics algorithm.

Intresting i stop using default atc ever since atc assign me the wrong runway base on my flight plan. I might give it a try when p3d v3 comes out.

You probably should have blamed the planner. ;)
