August 14, 200520 yr Hello,I just downloaded and installed the Interim 747 fix from the PMDG website. It seems to have cured the CTD that occurred when exiting FS9.Ron SagelNear KCHS
August 14, 200520 yr Just tryig it our now. Seems to have fixed a lot of things including the course intercept and performance with long flight plans. I loaded EGLL to VHHH and no stutters in the taxi or takeoff.Just in time for Sunday flying.dlm9000
August 14, 200520 yr Yes, and that was the main fix I wanted as I was getting a CTD citing PMDGoptions.dll everytime I didn't load the 747. The beta testers for PMDG must be an extremely loyal and dedicated bunch of testers! Otherwise they would have caught this glitch after loading another aircraft during the testing period. I'm a dedicated and loyal PMDG fan too and only loaded another aircraft just to quickly check out newly installed scenery for Vancover....Jim
August 15, 200520 yr "The beta testers for PMDG must be an extremely loyal and dedicated bunch of testers!"That's funny, their loyal to a point of slamming every customer that reports issues they don't deem important. They can get down right ugly with you. Some even went as far as saying people needed to upgrade their hardware to resolve this issue as they didn't see this in beta testing. I'm glade the developers are trying to resolve these issues and hopefully will listen to various customer suggestions and input. You have allot of 'Jackals' out there ready to pounce on issues they don't deem important because they either have no problems or they want the product to stay the way it is without further improvement... :-boom FS2020 Alienware Aurora R11 10th Gen Intel Core i7 10700F - Windows 11 Home 32GB Ram NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Ti Super OC 16GB - Pimax Crystal Light VR
August 15, 200520 yr and the fix works for me, no longer does pmdgoptions.dll crash the game, the only problem now, is when flying into an airport I get an out of memory error message... hopefully this will be addressed
August 15, 200520 yr I am still getting the out of memory error. I got it with the 737 also, so I'm wondering if it's even related to any PMDG products, it might be something else altogether. Jeff D. August 15, 200520 yr Jeff I still get major stutters in the VC so my guess is some issues are still unresolved. PMDG is trying to tack these problems down but at this point it seems their barking up the wrong tree...How long do we have left until KMCI is released??? :-hah FS2020 Alienware Aurora R11 10th Gen Intel Core i7 10700F - Windows 11 Home 32GB Ram NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Ti Super OC 16GB - Pimax Crystal Light VR
August 15, 200520 yr Dillon,I'm getting actual CTD (out of memory errors) when on the downwind leg on the arrival airport. Specificaly SFO-PHX (Arlin3) which takes you on the south side (over Tempe) of Arizona. The flight is about 1 hour and 20-30 minutes.I'm not sure that's it's related to the PMDG airplanes though. The problem is I can't remember if it started after I installed ASV, UT (patched), or the PMDG 744.I think though it may have something to do with the terrain files from UT or ASV, but I can't confirm it yet.I haven't had time to uninstall each item and try it seperatley...lol.Also: I have installed the latest fix and of course like they said I don't get the restart errors anymore, but still get the CTD.I have no problems with the frame rates in any view (panel 2d/VC, outside, etc.) Jeff D. Show me a single example of me "slamming" someone because I didn't see the issue in testing. I am totally convinced that the CTD and slowdown issues are not a "bug" in the plane, but rather system specific issues that a handful of vocal users are having. PMDG is not responsible for hardware or software issues in people's machines - they will try to help but when no one on the dev or beta team can replicate the errors, what are they supposed to do to "fix" it? That's not a slam, it's fact. I have done more than anyone to ensure that customer issue reports get logged and looked at by the development team - no one asked me to do it. I'm sort of wishing I hadn't at this point since so many people see fit to just insult the team rather than act constructively. The fact that you spend all your time on Avsim and PMDG's fiorum whining seems to make no difference to you but trust me most people around these parts know all about you and your silly posts.
Randy J. August 15, 200520 yr I'm a big fan of the PMDG 737, but after the problems I've experienced with the 747, I'm done buying their products the day they are released. This whole thing is remniscent of the 737 release - I bought it the day it came out, but wasn't able to use it for a few months until they released a service pack fixing all of the issues.I'm jealous of all of you who are able to use this product with no problems. For me, the only 747 switch I'll be pushing is the uninstall./Dave

Smith
Randy,Not everyone can afford the latest, 'all-sing-all-dancing' systems. The requirements stated, by PMDG for running the 'Queen' are within nearly all the customers who after spending a lot of money, on this aircraft are quite rightly ASKING for improvements. If, the selection of 'Beta-Testers' didn't include someone with the minimum requirements to run the software, then this is a problem that PMDG should have addressed BEFORE they released it!Dillon, myself and all the other complainee's with systems that do comply and who paid, for this are not knocking the product but, on the contrary are actually subscribing to the 'Beta Testing', for free. This action should not be criticised by you, who managed to get the whole thing free.Yes, you contributed with marvellous screenshots in the days leading up to it's release, and they were very good. I thank you for that but.........................Why did ALL these bugs not show up earlier?.............and you have been already told the answer.Dave T. .........On the Devon Riviera and active 'FlightSim User's Group' member at http://www.flightsimgrpuk.free-online.co.uk/ Dave Taylor
August 15, 200520 yr Randy, I can't help but notice YOU alot everywhere I go. I'm a happy friend/customer of PMDG (since the 777 days), and I think the company is extremely professional, but ... why do I see you spouting off all the time? Everytime I see a heated post from you I wonder why someone at PMDG doesn't have a talk with you.Tim Dobrowolsky
August 15, 200520 yr Sorry to hear that Dave, I fly the 737 all the time. It's ole trusty to me.With complicated add-ons like we're having now sometimes it's #### near impossible to get all the stuff straight no matter how much you do before hand. From a 1st release standpoint the aircraft itself did really well (performance wise), IMO. A few issues with validation due to long email addy's like mine and such, but over all pretty good. The fix has fixed the options.dll thingy. So far I think they've done really good with issuing their Virtual AD's as I call them, and any real manufacturer would do as well. The out of memory issues, I don't think anyone can be sure that it is related to any PMDG products.
