Thanks Rick!

Did you copy all of the ATC files and over write the V3 ATC sound files?

  • Ok, here goes ...  First you need to add the AI aircraft to the sim. You do that by adding the path to the MT6 aircraft folder to P3D "simobjects.cfg", in the same way that the configurator does for

Sorry to butt in, I'm sure I remember reading of a utility for MT6 that only showed flights within a certain radius of you, and helped with performance.  Can someone point me to it please?

Is there a manual for MyTraffic 6 available anywhere? I'd like to see the list of features before I even consider buying it. I've spent a lot of work in the UT2 in the version 2.5 to just abandon it. A list of available airlines and models from out of the box would be nice too.

Yes there is a pretty extensive manual on how to customize stuff in MT6, but to be honest, I have never even looked at it. I just installed it and let it does it's thing. I always see appropriate aircraft at the airports I fly in and out of which is alot, because I fly for a VA every day both in North America and Europe.

It's not an official list, but I created the below linked file by scanning all the .air files in the MT6 folders whilst trying to make a model matching file for PilotEdge, it's not particularly cleaned up, but it should suffice to give you a reasonable view of what's in there.

Drumcode, depending on how much you have customized UT2 I don't think going to MYT6 would be a step forward. It all depends on what you are looking to achieve.

Hi,

Installed into P3D3, but I get nothing. I followed the guide provided on their webpage. It's installed, but I see no traffic.bgl file in world\scenery.

Note: I do get the error log that goes to 999 like many others.

run the configurator from the start menu or in the install folder - in the P3D configuration select the option to turn off the native traffic.bgl. It should do it automatically.

Hi,

Not working, or I don't know how to follow simple instructions. I'll wait for an installer.

Hey Mike,

The default ai traffic file is p3dRootFolder\Scenery\World\Scenery\trafficAircraft.bgl. As Vic pointed out, MTX should disable from the communicator. If it's still active, you can just change the extension to bgl_stop or something.

Quick checklist:

-has a copy of TrafficDatabaseBuilder.exe been placed in the MyTraffic folder? It is located in the SDK folder

-is there an entry in ..\ProgramData\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v3\SimObjects.cfg? The entry numbers must be sequential. [Entry.xx] Path=pathToMyTrafficAircrsftFolder

-is there an entry in the scenery library for MyTraffic? It should be above the default scenery and below any addon scenery.

Hi

Found the problem... It looks like the program "NEVER" generated a SimObjects.cfg file even though I added aircraft and saved the file from within the program.

Working fine now, I will say this about the installation process. It is BY FAR, the worst I've ever seen and I'm not talking about butchering the install process for P3D3... You would think (BY NOW) their install process would be able to find folder/file locations on their own, this process should be completely automated by now.

If the next MyTraffic update comes with this same install process... Count me out, I'll move over to UT or since I manually have to perform all these added steps.... I'll install FREEWARE instead.

I only have P3Dv3 installed now on a new PC.

Will I be able to download a fresh fopy of MT6 from SimMarket and get it installed into P3Dv3 ... because no P3Dv2 on this PC to copy anything?

Yes Vaughan. The install can be confusing but if you read the post on the MT6 forum and take it slowly it should go fine.

Install MT6 *OUTSIDE* of the P3D3 root. When you get to the configurator - set the paths correctly and let the configurator modify the trafficbgl.

YOU have to edit the simobjects.cfg file manually and also install mt6 in the scenery library above defaults and below any addons.

Vic,

Thanks for the reply.

I will get MT6 downloaded now from SimMarket and then install it into its own folder on my F drive.

Then I will follow you directions.
