October 7, 201510 yr Would like to know if anyone is using this in P3D. I can't get the config tool to work in v3 with Ezdok. My go with Opusfsi. Kevin Humphryes
October 7, 201510 yr I use that combo - no problems. Since a couple of days ago OpusFSI is fully v3 compatible. I dropped Ezdok a long way back, products where you really don't know whether there's support or not don't have a long life on my system. October 7, 201510 yr Author Yes it's a lot of trouble using ezdok sometimes. Going to get Opus when I get home. May need your guidance if I have any problems. Kevin Humphryes
October 7, 201510 yr Yes I also gave up on EZdok a long time ago. Have used the combination of ASN for weather and OpusFSI for cameras successfully in P3DV2 and now have just started using it in P3DV3. I believe that OpusFSI is actually quite a good camera program once you wrap your head around it. October 7, 201510 yr If they would have split the camera and weather then it would have been a lot better Thanks,Pankaj Dekate
October 8, 201510 yr If they would have split the camera and weather then it would have been a lot better I agree. Would have been great to have just been able to purchase the camera part of the software at a reduced price. I originally started with Opus for weather so it was just an upgrade price for me. Can understand people not wanting to commit at the full price just for the camera functionality. October 8, 201510 yr I'm in the same boat here. Couldn't STAND abrupt weather/visibility changes and thought Opus could solve this, but it didn't. So i ended up purchasing ASN last night and smoothing is MUCH MUCH better now. I don't know how they do it, but it seems to work. Opus is now used for camera work only, and ASN for weather. Seems to work well together.
October 8, 201510 yr I would like to make the switch as well. I have the original Opus. I use ASN for weather and Ezdok. I haven't upgraded to OpusFS as I understand Opus will only process turbulence from their own weather engine. Can anyone confirm one way or the other on the turbulence? Thanks Regards, Graham Derreck CYMM
October 8, 201510 yr Using ASN and Opus cameras here. It's a good combo, Opus is much more stable than EX-DOK once you get it configured. Never tried with Opus wx...have been using ASN and its HiFi predecessors for a long time and have no reason to look elsewhere. It's a good idea to remove the camera.xxx entries from the aircraft.cfg file when you configure cameras for that acft with Opus...the interaction between the developer-defined camera defs and Opus can make for flaky camera operations. October 8, 201510 yr Am using ASN (its an keep-it-short-and-simple app)for the weather and EZDOK for the cams. I rarely use OpusFSI. I find it kinda complicated and overloaded with features hidden in sub sub menus. EZDOK is a pain too but creating cams is a lot easier i find. October 8, 201510 yr Author Do I just disable the weather engine in opus? I already have ASN just need instructions to use just the opus cameras Kevin Humphryes
October 8, 201510 yr Author Another question is how do I setup cameras for more than one aircraft. Was creating my cameras for the PMDG 737 and noticed I was selecting all my cameras for just the winglet version. I have several different liveries winglet and non. Kevin Humphryes
October 9, 201510 yr In the manual the Dev gives a step by step tutorial to setup cams. Opusfsi you must read the manual but once you learn it you got it. The forum has loads of info also. Maurice J I9 12900k \ EVGA 3080ti \ G-Skill 32GB \ Samsung 4K TV
October 11, 201510 yr Bumping my own post. Sorry. For those of you using Opus. I have OpusFSX. I moved to ASN and kept Opus cameras. I found that the camera shake based on weather was gone. No turbulence effect. I uninstalled Opus and installed Ezdok. I got the turbulence back. Opus author said his cameras designed to work with Opus weather. That was several years ago. I'd like to go back to OpusFSI cameras. Less buggy and designed for P3D 3. But not if I have smooth sailing when I shouldn't. Can anyone help me out? Thanks. Regards, Graham Derreck CYMM
