Would love to have home base back, but read that there are artifacts in some of the scenery objects in p3d3. <p>Dassault Falcon, Lear, Embraer and Challenger and Cessna Mechanic.Broadcasting live from former Soviet Missile Silo.Rhys Legge

November 1, 201510 yr So far I've found no use for EMT whatsoever - what works in v3, works. What doesn't cannot be made to work by use of a sneaky installer.
November 1, 201510 yr Author I guess I will find out later if I will get a memory leak on a long haul. November 3, 201510 yr So far I've found no use for EMT whatsoever - what works in v3, works. What doesn't cannot be made to work by use of a sneaky installer. Incorrect. Every single FSX Only airport I own has successfully installed int P3D V3.0 with the Migration Tool. Feelthere ERJ series aircraft also install into P3D 3.0 with said tool. Everything else as you said has a V3 installer which is ideal but the 'sneaky installer' works just fine with the dev version. Just a heads up for those using this tool and are experiencing weird loading behavior with PMDG Aircraft. The migration software is the culprit. Follow this link and instructions to get the PMDG to load correctly when you have the migration tool installed (migration tool is not needed to install PMDG products as they have their own installers but even having the Migration tool installed will interfere with the PMDG loading into the sim properly. It's a very easy fix.) http://board.flightsim.ee/discussion/527/answered-pmdg-ngx-737-p3d-v3-version-strange-behaviour-with-migration-tool-installed Captain K-Man FlightBlog Channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCulqmz0zmIMuAzJvDAZPkWQ // Streaming on YouTube most Wednesdays and Fridays @ 6pm CST Brian Navy
November 3, 201510 yr Moderator IMHO, I think part of the problem is this - on the surface, the EMT appears to be a no brainer. It plays with the links and fools the installer into thinking install area A is really install area B. Most of the time, for inexperienced users, this will work. The problems come when you have a non standard installer that does other stuff behind the scenes. The novice will not have a clue as to the problem. Other issues come when one leaves the links set and forget and another program searches the registry for an update and things go down hill from there. Having to use another program to "fix" issues caused by it ( as the PMDG mentioned above), to me, is not a program I would consider ready for prime time. Explaining the working of the SymLink command and letting the user decide whether or not it is within their field of expertise is much better IMHO. As long as the user is aware of the negative possibilities I think it's fine. Vic RIG#1 - I9 14900K MSI Pro z790 RTX 5070Ti 40" 4K Monitor 3840x2160
