December 26, 201510 yr I get the same good FPS in light cloud conditions, and the same crappy performance in cloudy conditions. Daniel Moser
December 26, 201510 yr I felt a hit in the performance. I like to use high settings. 9800X3D@H150i // Msi RTX 5090 Trio OC // 64GB DDR5 6000mhz CL30 // 2TB + 1TB Nvme Dell 27" 2127DGF - 1440p - Gsync - 165hz Thrustmaster TCA Sidestick Airbus // TCA Quadrant Airbus // TFRP T.Flight Rudder Pedals // Logitech Flight Multi Panel
December 26, 201510 yr Author It's just me or the V3.1 update had a clear drop in FPS performance? I had to uninstall this update and came back to V3.0 in order to have my FPS back... No difference for me. The issue is a sudden loss in performance between two simulator sessions, without any changes to the sim or the pc... I've had it with version 3 as well as version 3.1... December 26, 201510 yr Is it P3D specific Bert.... i.e. how does Project Cars perform? Stupidly expensive rig, nonplussed Memsahib, disinterested offspring and a fascinated cat as Rio. XP11, P3Dv3 and an Oculus Rift.
December 26, 201510 yr Author My Project Car settings are high to ultra David. No problem there. It is a P3D thing. Cheers, Bert AMD Ryzen 5900X, 32 GB RAM, RTX 3080 Ti, Windows 11 Home 64 bit, MSFS 2024
December 26, 201510 yr Worrying.... Don't shoot the messenger Bert - but I'm assuming that you will have looked at all the usual suspects (cfg, exe dll et.al.)? Stupidly expensive rig, nonplussed Memsahib, disinterested offspring and a fascinated cat as Rio. XP11, P3Dv3 and an Oculus Rift.
December 26, 201510 yr Author I have tried to let P3D rebuild the prepar3d.cfg. That didn't make any difference... As far as dll's are cocerned I only use ASN. But when the sim was running great I also had ASN active, so it can't be the cause. I have a feeling it is somehow related to Orbx software, but I may be wrong... December 26, 201510 yr Does your TaskBar 'AutoHide' Bert? Mike has posted an interesting find about the TaskBar causing fps drops in a Multi-Monitor situation. http://www.avsim.com/topic/476289-surround-multi-monitor-low-fps-taskbar-issue-fix/ Stupidly expensive rig, nonplussed Memsahib, disinterested offspring and a fascinated cat as Rio. December 26, 201510 yr Author Thanks for the link David. But I only use one monitor... Cheers, Bert AMD Ryzen 5900X, 32 GB RAM, RTX 3080 Ti, Windows 11 Home 64 bit, MSFS 2024
December 26, 201510 yr I have the same issue Bert.... Did a new and clean P3Dv3.1 install with all my addons. Everything was great, until i then installed my Orbx addons. After that, FPS dropped and now i get a lot of micro stutters:-( Windows 10 (x64) - X-Plane 11 - M/B: Asus ROG Maximus IX Hero - CPU: i7 7700k (@5.0GHz) - RAM: 32Gb Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 @ 3200MHz - Video: GTX1080ti - Cooling: Custom water loop (EK 140 Revo D5 pump/res combo, EK EVO CPU block, EK XE360 Rad)
December 26, 201510 yr Author I have the same issue Bert.... Did a new and clean P3Dv3.1 install with all my addons. Everything was great, until i then installed my Orbx addons. After that, FPS dropped and now i get a lot of micro stutters:-( Well the problem is resolved again. I tried to see what happened if I disabled Orbx objectflow, so I turned it of in the P3D dll.xml file. When I started the sim after that my frames were back to normal again. I then closed the sim and enabled objectflow again. Fortunately the frames didn't drop, so all's good now. Maybe you can try this too Phil. December 26, 201510 yr Will try that myself Bert .... Stupidly expensive rig, nonplussed Memsahib, disinterested offspring and a fascinated cat as Rio. XP11, P3Dv3 and an Oculus Rift.
December 26, 201510 yr How bizarre - will try that..... Windows 10 (x64) - X-Plane 11 - M/B: Asus ROG Maximus IX Hero - CPU: i7 7700k (@5.0GHz) - RAM: 32Gb Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 @ 3200MHz - Video: GTX1080ti - Cooling: Custom water loop (EK 140 Revo D5 pump/res combo, EK EVO CPU block, EK XE360 Rad)
December 27, 201510 yr Could you explain how to do it, Bert?
