October 16, 20169 yr You're welcome! Remember to watch out for undocked panels, they should be OK but with some Nvidia driver versions they can reduce frame rate a lot when undocked. That's a driver fault so take care to have the best driver and always after updating the driver software run Nvidia Control Panel and 3D settings Restore/Apply all Profiles before making changes there or in Nvidia Profile Inspector. By mixing some indications in this thread with some other indications on your thread about affinity mask, I have come to have the smoothest Sim I have ever had: here are my "mix" for P3D V3.4: Affinity Mask=15 (4 core CPU...I7-2600K at 48Ghz...HT OFF) Vsync and triple buffering ON in P3D frame unlimited in P3D frame locked at 30.5 in NI Vsync 1/2 refresh rate in NI I have most of the sliders in P3D in the medium high range..... I simply can't believe how smooth P3D has become... Thanks for your indications...!! Ezio AMD Ryzen 7800x3d, Asus ROG Strix RTX4090, Asus x670e-e, G-Skill F5-6000J3038F16GX2-TZ5NR

October 17, 20169 yr Same here! Thanks so much Jose ! I used your recipe and have a very smooth 30fps sim. However, Jackson uses another recipe. Is that the latest common approved recipe for sucess? October 17, 20169 yr Commercial Member My friends, I've read the entire thread here, many terrific contributions by you guys. My background: I'm fairly adept at FSX/P3D settings, and I've performed tech support, including support for several developers, for about 10 years. A few months ago I purchased a Samsung 55 inch 4k TV, and P3D ran on it like a gem! Absolute perfection in every category, really without any tweaking whatsoever. Now, this was under Windows 10 Home Edition. Then despite my best efforts, Microsoft pushed through the Anniversary Update and it nuked my system, and uninstalling it didn't correct the many problems with practically all programs including P3D. So I reinstalled Windows 7, and since then I've not been able to get P3D to run on the 4k with better than 20 fps, which becomes 4, 8 or 12fps in any clouds despite many differeent interations of AA and other graphics settings. Then I resized the P3D window to about 60% of the full (Maximum) window size and... back to 40, 50 and 60fps... even jumps as high as 76fps. I believe I've tried most everything recommended in this and other threads regarding running P3D on a 4k. My question is this: Is there a difference between the Windows 7 an 10 architexture what prevents me from running my 4k in a full window? I'd rather not go back to Windows 10, especially given that I'll now have to pay for it. October 17, 20169 yr Why is 30.5 FPS limited in NI and not 30 or 31? Gruß Holliwutt i7-10700k 5,1 GHz - 18 GB RAM - ASUS 1080Ti - Dell G-Sync Monitor
October 17, 20169 yr Question: I've seen reference to using Vsync 1/2 refresh rate in NI. It has always been my understanding that this setting only applies to full-screen mode (which P3D dos not provide). Has that changed? If not, I'm thinking that using this setting is not providing any Vsync at all (unless full vsync is being enabled in the sim).

October 17, 20169 yr Latest versions of NI and drivers can only limit at 28.5, 29.5, 30.5.... Not quite right, scroll down to "Frame Rate Limiter V2", where you can set it. If you have a NVidia-Maxwell card, you can still use "Other" "FRAMERATE_LIMITER_2_CONTROL_ALLOW_ALL_MAXWELL" i7-10700k 5,1 GHz - 18 GB RAM - ASUS 1080Ti - Dell G-Sync Monitor

You will not have to pay for W10 again as you have already had it installed on that machine, MS has your machine registered.
October 17, 20169 yr Yes... you are one of those that has vsync OFF in P3D. Are you experiencing any screen-tearing? Yes i have Off in P3D. No tearing here. October 17, 20169 yr Commercial Member VSync in P3D Display Settings does not control tearing it ties the sim renderer output to the monitor refresh, and so acts like an fps limiter. Whereas VSync controlling monitor display tearing is tied to the desktop refresh which controls the GPU output to the monitor. Steve Waite: Engineer at codelegend.com
