January 21, 201610 yr Will it work without Global Base? Says it's needed. Bought one from Steam recently but I don't think it was Orbx. Rick Almeida

January 22, 201610 yr Does anyone happen to know if this the same as the FSX Steam version of KCGX that has been out for awhile now or is it enhanced anyway? I would certainly prefer to purchase from the FlightSim Store where I have purchased all my other ORBX products but on Steam it is currently $11 and at the FlightSim store it is $34.50

I would certainly prefer to purchase from the FlightSim Store where I have purchased all my other ORBX products but on Steam it is currently $11 and at the FlightSim store it is $34.50 Good question Same here. Not sure if the version I purchased from Steam was an Orbx work. EDIT: Just discovered that the Steam purchase I made for KCGX is in fact an Orbx product, and it worked out cheaper than via FlightSim Store, specially as it is on sale at 50%. Rick Almeida
January 22, 201610 yr Yes, I believe the Steam Version of KCGX is the ORBX product. ORBX also did a version of Friday Harbour (KFHR) for Steam but in that case I believe that after they did the version for Steam (90 days later) they released an enhanced version at the FlightSim Store. That is why I was wondering if the latest KCGX is enhanced. Someone please feel free to correct me if I have any of this wrong.
January 22, 201610 yr The version just released is significantly enhanced compared to the steam version Glenn Ryzen 3700X, X570 Pro Wifi, 32GB 3600mhz RAM, Nvidia Titan Xp "Galactic Empire", RM750x PSU, H700 case, 2x NVMe M2 SSD, 1x SATA SSD
January 22, 201610 yr Commercial Member I waited for this version because it has people flow and some other additions that the Steam version did not have. Paul Grubich 2017 - Professional texture artist painting virtual aircraft I love. Be sure to check out my aged cockpits for the A2A B-377, B-17 and Connie at Flightsim.com and Avsim library
January 22, 201610 yr Two questions regarding Meigs: Firstly, given the resource implications of the recent Friday Harbor release, does anyone have any feedback on how Meigs behaves from this viewpoint? Secondly, how does it compare to Aerosoft US Cities X Chicago which I currently use and which also contains Meigs? Bill

January 22, 201610 yr Different developers for Friday Harbor vs. Meigs Field, I believe. Stew "Different dog, different fleas"
January 22, 201610 yr correct.. and much smaller area.. Friday Harbor includes the whole island. Bert
January 22, 201610 yr Bill, Your second question is answered over at the Orbx forums, in the Compatibility Forum. Should of course have thought to look at the Compatibility Forum over at Orbx first! Good to know the two products can coexist. Re performance.. no issues Great to hear that the performance is good as I have been slightly wary after Friday Harbor, which was the first Orbx scenery to cause my system to struggle somewhat. Many thanks to you both for the information. Bill
