I am having a blast... With the Level-d 767

Guys, after hours of frustration (I know less about tech then Billy's goat) I got this idea from the Avsim CTD Guide with some success. Takes a bit of time and patience.

1. Right click the FSX icon and open properties.

2.Click compatibility

3.Click Compatibility mode for, go down and cheak the last windows you ran LVLD on.(windows 7 for me).

4.Click APPLY and restart your computer. Very important to restart.

5. I then installed LVLD using the same procedure for windows compatibility. Restart again.

When I started FSX it took about 5 min with some hang. Loaded LVLD and shut down fsx. The next FSX start took 3-5 min to start and got smoother with the 2nd and third start. Runs good know using ASN, OPUS camera and FSX Fiber Accelerator. Have not loaded the winglet version so I imagine you would have to go through the same with that addition. Good luck and I sure hope this helps some one.

And oh yes. Still hangs a couple of seconds when you turn landing lights on or off.

The Pilot in Command 767 was the one which got me simming in the first place. I saw it on my colleagues desktop in work and went Woahh, what's that!   Review actually here   http://www.avsim.com/p

Well, John, I'm not implying that!   I'm just saying it would be sad (and in my honest opinion, silly) to abandon such a "healthy" hobby just because a 15-year-old product is "discontinued".   The

As well as being the name of a motion simulator, the name Level-D is also an add on for FSX (Microsoft Flight simulator software program).

Hey peoples ..... please read the title of this forum ..... THE FS2004 (FS9) FORUM

It's happening more and more ....... sigh!

You're going to force me to build the wall ..... and I guarantee FSX users are going to pay for it!

What did FSX do to you? Seriously, did it go to your home and beat you or something?

Sorry folks, but since the thread was about Level-D which is compatible for both sims I figured we had a cross dresser here.

Sorry Jude, but FSX is NOT the name of a motion simulator. It is a name of a flight simulation program. That said, perhaps it could be used in a homebuilt motion simulator although I doubt it as most people struggle to run it on one display let alone 3 or 5. PS: Did not need Wiki for this. ;)

Don't be sorry!

  • 3 months later...

Another Level D 767 FS9 fan here , just one thing that puts me off flying it more is the use of its un-updatable Mag Var data ...I tend to use FS9s 2010 mag var file if I fly around the USA or the 2015-16 file for UK flights but this has no effect on the Level D as its data is from 2003 and can't be updated so the runway centre lines are quite a way out of alignment but the magenta route on APP is ok ,the FSX version from what I read doesn't have this problem and I wish they would release a quick patch to fix this for FS9.
