An alternative to EZDOK....SimpleCam

Featured Replies

I must say this product is really simple (no pun intended).

I own EZDOK but have looked at other alternatives and must say I think I will purchase SimpleCam as a replacement in P3D.  I never leave the flight deck so I don't need the theatrical outside shots or wing views etc as that is EZDOK's specialty and for simmers that enjoy those views.

I can set up 10 views very quickly and there is nothing to add to my exe.dll file and only a few keys in the controls that needed to be modified.  Works with simconnect even on a second computer.

Its made by the same people of Aivlasoft EFB.

Just my two cents and extremely mini review.

I'm sick of using EzDOk too, its such a pain to get all set up.

I've been using this a few days and found it excellent. Far simpler to use than Ezdock or Opus. To add or amend camera views you don't need to open up another window or program. Move the camera to new location, press Control and the selected number key, then 1 to save (or 2 for don't save). Simple!

No external views but there's always F11.

Of course this works for every aircraft.

There's a 7 day free trial and at just 9 Swiss Frans (£6) it's a bargain.

Does it add DHM etc?

Does it add DHM etc?

No, sorry.  Its just a basic view system.   10 different views using the number pad.

You position yourself with arrow keys and page up/down then hit Ctrl-#key to assign view to a shortcut key.

They have a 7 day free trial.

Sorry did not see the reply above

Doesn't add motion effects like EZdok, I don't believe, which is one of the best things about EZdok.

Well for $10 US is does what it says on the tin.

Another plus is the developer is there to support the product!

Doesn't A2A's Accufeel add motion effects? If so this along with Accufeel could be a good alternative to Ezdok if you can live without the world cam and the outside cams. Those features are Important to anyone who likes to make FS Video's though.

I bought it and is very satisfied with it so far. It is indeed very "simpel", but doing what I need and very easy to set up. Something to have in mind when setting the views is the zoom factor, which I have to read up on in the manual, but other than that, thumbs up from me.

Quick question when switching views I would assume its instant vie change not a panning motion to each view which would be nice as i like that feature in ezdok

Can I use my yoke panning in vc also with this meaning if I choose to pan with yoke button it still works  with simplecam or are you restricted to the simplecam system

The views pan when changing; they are not instant.

Yes you can use your hatstick on your joystick to pan. You could also setup mouse look in fsupic if you wish but the normal view controls still work. i.e. Spacebar and mouse.

You can also move around with the arrow keys and page up/dn also but they are not as smooth ezdok.

Can profiles be set for each plane?

Hmm not working in p3d v3 - try changing views but just getting p3d key inputs working not simlpecam - any ideas why

Didnt get serial number screen as I started it before the sim start - launched p3d first and now getting serial number screen so give that a try now

Me likes this - exactly what I been looking for - I can use the views and still have my yoke button panning works perfectly together - buying this now - thanks for the heads up on this - great stuff

Yes. It will save each aircraft camera cfg in your user folder outside of P3D.

Glad you like it Richard. I was just looking for a simple camera without the fuss of ezdok.
