[24MAY16] PMDG DC-6 Cloudmaster for X-Plane Update and Release Info!

Featured Replies

All beta testing was done with just XPlane and the DC-6.  In fact I have no idea what you are talking about LOL.

No need for that snark, but judging from your reaction I would say that there are no additional 3rd party plugins needed for the DC-6. Will the exterior sound be fixed for the v1.0 release?

  • I knew that was a clue!!

Due to Patent Trolling...completely different (skip to 1:35):     Yes, that's John Oliver mocking the ridiculous state of affairs of patent abuse, using the claim on X-Plane as the example.

This is more a question to the developers, not necessarily testers :)

Generally speaking (Gizmo aside), 3rd-party plugins are not "required" per se since they're simply included in the aircraft package (under plugins/), no action required from the user (other than installing the aircraft), but I'm curious as to whether any of them were used.

Anyway, the more important question remains: anyone knows when it releases?

Yes I think he meant whether a plugin was used during development that wasn't developed in house. And when does what release? The DC-6? Tomorrow.

Hello

In regard to system requirement, in order to run 64 bits in XP, I must have Window 10, is this correct or not?

Thanks

No, you must have a 64-bit version of windows. 7,8.1 or 10.

Windows 10 is not required to run X-Plane in 64 bit. Do need a 64 bit version of Windows, but X-Plane will run fine in 64 bit in a 64 bit version of Windows 7,8, 10. Think the Windows 10 is a PMDG specific recommendation, not an X-Plane requirement.

Finally, the most important question (for longtime PMDG customers): does PMDG typically release at a given time (i.e. time T on release day in a specific timezone), or is it usually random?

For the 777 It was released about 11 AM GMT (if I remember rightly).

Hi Felipe,

I presume you are referring to a comment made by Frooglesim, however, it is not a bug and hence it does not require a fix.

This is our first X-plane aircraft, and already we have implemented a comprehensive sound system that is far superior to the default sound implementation of X-plane.  Distance based volumes on sounds for the external view is a feature and it will be added in a future update.

Appreciate the reply. Working the graveyard shift and keep refreshing the PMDG homepage!

Hi Kyle,

this sounds quite good as some 3rd developer plugins tend to crash (SASL) or aren't compatible with certain OS version (like Gizmo and Linux). I know that developing a first project for a "new" platform may have unpredictable twists and turns, especially if this platform is spread over three operation systems.

My question is: Are there any plans to support Linux aside Windows and Mac OS X?

Thank you very much :)

With kind regards,
