You Piston-headed Pilots are going to fall in love with this aircraft.  She is a dream to fly and provides an excellent simulation of aircraft from the golden age of air travel.

The DC-6 does not require any plug ins. It's all in-house development.

  • I knew that was a clue!!

Due to Patent Trolling...completely different (skip to 1:35):     Yes, that's John Oliver mocking the ridiculous state of affairs of patent abuse, using the claim on X-Plane as the example.

Now you are teasing!!   Can't wait....there is room in my hangar right next to the beautiful LES DC-3

I'd also like some recommendations as to where to find some documentation, I can see some flight manuals dotted around the internet but perhaps someone can point me in the right direction before I part with my money :-)

I pointed to a free donwload for a C-118 manual here: http://www.avsim.com/topic/488271-08may16-pmdg-dc-6-update-beta-testing-nearly-finished-for-x-plane-release/?p=3419747

The scans aren't perfect, especially in the charts sections, but it does the job until we get the official documentation.

Beautiful.  Well it looks like I'm going to be getting my butt kicked all summer, starting next week!

You really wish we would put detail into the 777?

In his defense I read his comment differently (as in: wishing for a conversion of your 777 to XP, with the same level of detail and animation as in your FSX version).

Hi

Does engine failure included ? I mean if any of the operational parameters / limitations was crossed ?

Thanks .....

No worries - figured the image and description would be better / more interesting than me simply saying "yes."

Sweet, thanks for the Linux update. I have waited this long and don't mind waiting longer, there are certainly options which will allow you to install on Linux as I know Aerosoft is using one method, but there might be better ones.

Definitely! Made me look over the list of realism options. What exactly do the damage alerts do? Do they alert you once damage has been done or do they warn you if you're about to damage something?

They're mostly alerts to the fact that you're currently doing damage so as to give you a chance to fix your action.

Two questions:

1. Will we get a list and/or screenshots of the included liveries? Or will we just have to wait for release?

2. I'm assuming their will be an X-Plane section in the PMDG store? or will the DC-6 stay under P3D?

Was going to be a day 1 purchase for me too until I realised it is for X-plane - so very disappointed here as this is THE addon I had been looking forward to for years! Are there any plans to develop this for FSX or do we have to remain content with the Just Flight product?

We've been pretty candid for the last year or so (coming up on a year in a couple weeks) that this is our first product for X-Plane, but depending on how close you've been following this, I can understand the surprise, given the fact that it was ambiguous until that time.

...however, we've also been pretty candid about the fact that this is anticipated to be brought into the other platforms after the XPL release since we announced it as our first aircraft going into XPL. This includes the original post in this thread:

Release for X-Plane will take place on June 1, 2016...

(For those interested in other platforms: We don't have any platform conversion ETAs available at this time...  We will let you know once we have spent some time on the conversion and thus have some estimates...)

If you have been looking forward to it for so long, I would have presumed you have been following the forums, where you would have learnt, firstly it was being released for X-Plane then later for FSX and P3D.
