July 22, 20169 yr Hi, So far I swapped out the Titan X's for 1080's. The three additional computers will be 6700's at 4.6GHz. As I know that you are totally crazy....... The new Titan was just announced for ~1300$. I think you will need at least 4 of them :-D ;-)
July 22, 20169 yr The new Titan was just announced for ~1300$. $1200, available Aug 2nd ... unfortunately I lost my nVidia inside contact, so I'll be "in the queue" for two new Titan X's (which probably means it'll be Oct/Nov before they become available to the masses) ... so who want's to buy my old Titan X's for $600 each (with EK water blocks)? But realistically, I wouldn't expect much of a performance gain in P3D ... what I would expect is no significant performance hit when running 8X SGSS AA thru clouds at 4K. What it'll most likely will be able to do is handle more shadows/reflection settings and work 4096 textures effortlessly. But if one is an FPS hunter, then it's probably not gonna meet that goal (for P3D/FSX/Xplane). Cheers, Rob.
July 22, 20169 yr I would leave SGSS 4X and turn up more goodies in P3D as 4x looks great - just a thought - good luck with new cards - should be awesome - never had a good feeling about the 1080 especially after your in depth testing - Titan's rule  Rich Sennett
July 22, 20169 yr It's a balancing act Rich, the only time my Titan X's currently operate at a higher load than my CPU is when I'm running SGSS AA (which is rare). I "think" that's where the "new" Titan X's will shine and equalize the balance. Cheers, Rob.

Thanks Rob not using SGSS is not an option at least on my monitor until a 4k arrives someday then things should be a lot better so good to know SGSS will get a boost - NCP doesnt come close to the quality SGSS offers me presently Will do repaints for anyone offering me a 42" 4k monitor - any takers lol thats not going to happen  Rich Sennett
August 2, 20169 yr Hi, Jetline had the systems built as of July 11. At that point they needed all my registration info (that's one long list) so the software could be installed on all the systems. Right now, I'd say they have probably just started testing. I'll keep you updated just as soon as I get word... As a side note, Ken made the following comment to me in an email that reads "I can already tell this is going to be a world class setup once you get it back!" That sounds promising. Any update Mike? Have you received your machines? --- Jim ---
August 2, 20169 yr Mike, what the heck are you running to need 64 gigs of RAM?He might in the future Hey Rob, Is this a subtle hint of P3D x64 on the near horizon, Rob? It's a rhetorical question. I don't expect you to give up any LM secrets. Just feel free to continue dropping the innuendoes. It gives us common folks something to dream about at night. ;o) Cheers, Craig

August 3, 20169 yr Author Hi, The setup is getting there, so far P3D3Pro+ multichannel is not doing that well... But it's early in testing and a patch (if needed) from L/M may change that in the future. Testing goes on at this point, addons going in right now and then additional testing. I'll keep you posted. August 12, 20169 yr I am beginning to wonder if myself or anyone will finally release information on the best prosessor for our flight sim hobby. I have 0 FPS landing at Sydney Kingsford Smith and settings mid to low. I have an AMD FX 8350 Processor 8 Core running 4ghz, Gigabyte Tech 990FXA-UD3 motherboard, 16GB DDR3 Ram running at 2209.7mhz. x2 Samsung SSDs 500GB each. Windows 10. have Steve DX 1O fixer and ORBX Global + Vector, Australia SP5, Traffic 360. all the usual Tweaks also. I think I should have more than 0 FPS Landing at YSSY. Any help would be much appreciated. Let me know how the 10 Core I7 beast handles P3D? Regards Lance L
August 12, 20169 yr I love the fact that there are people like Mike and Rob (and many others) who take our hobby to the next level :-) I think Mikes machine(s) will be awesome, can't wait to get the reports when it's up and running! Good luck Mike!
