January 8, 20179 yr Encountered a glitch. On my other machine I ran every version up to V1.1.2, when I tried to update it I got a series of .Net Framework Unhandled exceptions. The specified Module could not be found. HRESULT 0x8007007E clicking continue simply produced a never ending supply of error boxes, in fact the only way to close it is through the Task Manager. I updated .Net to 4 Extended. No change. I've uninstalled JoinFS and had a clear out, thinking a fresh start might do it. No change. I've re-downloaded it. Nada. I can't think what else I've changed as this machine is only used as a store cupboard and a server. I've run out of ideas. EDIT: I forgot to mention, it apparently installed OK, it's just when I try to start JoinFS EDIT2: I downloaded again. This time I was given the choice of repairing. Which I did. Up pops "A network error occurred while attempting to read from the file C:\Documents and Settings\Ron\My Documents\Downloads\JoinFS-Test.msi The World is divided into two groups. Those who say "Give me a link" and those that provide the link. WWG1WGA
January 9, 20179 yr Author Hi Ron, That's unusual since 1.1.2 was a fairly minor update. Nothing has changed regarding the installation of files. Have you, by any chance, uninstalled SimConnect at all. I can suggest re-installing SimConnect 10.0.61259.0. This comes with your simulator and is usually installed automatically, but you can easily reinstall it. For example, with FSX: Steam, it can be found here "(FSX)\SDK\Core Utilities Kit\SimConnect SDK\LegacyInterfaces\FSX-XPACK\SimConnect.msi" Hope that helps. Peter
January 9, 20179 yr Steam? What's Steam? It may well be something like that. Can JoinFS not be used as a hub without FSX/P3D being present? The World is divided into two groups. Those who say "Give me a link" and those that provide the link. WWG1WGA
January 9, 20179 yr Well spotted Peter. Simconnect was borked. All good now. The World is divided into two groups. Those who say "Give me a link" and those that provide the link. WWG1WGA
January 9, 20179 yr Author Glad it's sorted out, Ron. Yes, you can run JoinFS as a hub on a server without FSX, it just needs SimConnect. But that's a good question though. SimConnect is only required because it's sort of hard wired in at the moment. I think I should be able to allow it to run without SimConnect. I'll look into it. Peter
January 9, 20179 yr Peter, I wonder if you could do a small favour. Would you put the Bookmarks drop down menu back? It was so handy not to mention slicker. The World is divided into two groups. Those who say "Give me a link" and those that provide the link. WWG1WGA
January 9, 20179 yr Author Peter, I wonder if you could do a small favour. Would you put the Bookmarks drop down menu back? It was so handy not to mention slicker. I could do, but do you prefer that to the new Bookmarks window where you can see which bookmarks are currently live and then click Join in that window? Peter
January 9, 20179 yr Personally I preferred the old way. Drop down-select-join. If it's a case of either/or, don't worry about it, it's not important. The World is divided into two groups. Those who say "Give me a link" and those that provide the link. WWG1WGA
January 9, 20179 yr That's fair enough, I'll put it back in  Peter I like having them both. But putting it back in the interface would be great thanks. CPU: Intel i9-11900K @5.2 / RAM: 64GB DDR4 3200 / GPU: 4080 16GB /
January 9, 20179 yr An absolute prince. The World is divided into two groups. Those who say "Give me a link" and those that provide the link. WWG1WGA
January 10, 20179 yr Peter, v1.1.2 installed and the command line for -create working perfectly. One less thing to remember now. Again, thanks for the speedy response. The timing was perfect as I can use this today because tonight is our MP session and I can have JoinFS start up this afternoon. Gives the guys a chance to verify everything is working on their end. My TS2 server is on a Host DNS and the guys can connect to my TS2 and get my present IP address that way for use with JoinFS. I don't have to bother sending out my IP. Now that I have the command line command, the whole thing is totally automated for me. :-) Thank you, Peter. Frank
January 17, 20179 yr Is it just me or is the JoinFS website down. The program doesn't even run anymore. Is anyone else getting this? Ciao!
January 17, 20179 yr Author Hi Brian, Yes, the website appears to be down. Out of my control I'm afraid. JoinFS is supposed to continue running even if it can't check the version, but unfortunately it looks like there is a bug in the latest version that prevents it from carrying on. I'll get that fixed. Hopefully the website will return depending on the website provider of course.
