November 29, 200520 yr Nice video!It took a while before I realised it wasn't FS2004. Initially I thought it was the Ultimate Terrain USA scenery :-lol Location: Vleuten, The Netherlands, 17.3dme SPL 108.40 | Simulator: FS2024 System: AMD 7800X3D - Gigabyte X670 - RTX 4090 - 64GB DDR5 - 2 x 2TB SSD - 32" 1440p Display - Windows 11 Pro
November 29, 200520 yr Awesome! I never realised KJFK had such a lead-in system. Does any addon scenery (or the default for that matter) display those lights? /Tord Hoppe, Sweden
November 29, 200520 yr very cool, does anyone know what airplane that is? Also it would have been nice to hear the engines! Although the music was pretty good
November 29, 200520 yr From the apparent drift, it was suggested that it is a large GA type or, at most, a turboprop liner.
November 29, 200520 yr Hi Tord,The only place I have seen the lead-in lights is an old KJFK scenery for FS2000 that was published by Wilco, I believe. There was a patch I recall made for FS2002, but I think it fell off the radar for FS9. The frame-rates were poor, lots of static models and some dynamic ones too- the latter were revolutionery for FS2000, if my memory serves me correctly.Bruce. ASEL, Instrument. KBJC, Colorado.
November 29, 200520 yr I've seen it before though.Perhaps it was SimFlyers ?I have long-since uninstalled all SimFlyers so I can't confirm. If not that, then it was Manhattan by Aerosoft.Pretty sure it was SimFlyer's scenery though.
November 30, 200520 yr Hey guys,A while back I did an addon with these lights for fs2002 and they should also work in 2004, Go to the file lib and look for this file canasie11.zip.Flew this app many times. Muy tight on the right.Douglas :-beerchug
November 30, 200520 yr Just for fun - here is the approach platehttp://204.108.4.16/d-tpp/0511/00610VG13LR.PDF
November 30, 200520 yr Very nice video! Thanks for posting it. It reminds me how much I miss the moving lights on the roads from FS2000. ------------------------- Craig from KBUF
November 30, 200520 yr Author The Simflyers JFK has the Leadin lights ...they are slightly out of position (a little too close to the airport) if you follow the chart correctly.....a great shame as it is such a special approach. :( regardsEd http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/134178.gifAMD Athlon 64 3500+, 1024Mb PC3200 DDR, 300Gb HD 128Mb DDR Nvidia 6600GT PCI Express, Audigy 2 ZSCH Products Yoke, Pedals and Throttle Quadrant My FS Videos
November 30, 200520 yr Also a great shame there is no Fly-Tampa type scenery of JFK out there. It has got to be one of the most used airports in the FS world. Eric
November 30, 200520 yr Talk about synchronicity. Just this morning I was looking through the latest issue of Flying where there's an article about exactly this approach. The author was amused by the fact that a 747 crew spends 8 hours flying via FMC, LNAV and VNAV, then spends the last 10 minutes of the flight on this approach entirely with yoke, rudder and throttle at 800 ft before final. Mike
November 30, 200520 yr Yes, good video, and great music. Same kind I play when I shave,in the shower,an equally daunting task. Lagos, Reggio Calabria airport in Southern Italy has those rabbits running also. Their Runway 33, is a tight left, turn to final in the face of mountains. I think Alitalia pilots train there using this approach. Its a cool ad on,lots of action, noise, and great scenery. CIAO!! VIN
